This is a modernism-paranoia parable inspired by the imaginarium film Batteries Not Included.

God created Eden for Adam and Eve to share and cherish. However, Adam and Eve were not satisfied with natural simplicity and playful innocence. They wanted to explore the reality of sin, risk, rage, and lust. They were tricked by the Devil (Satan). Adam and Eve then proceeded on a complex and confounding 'evolution' which saw the achievements of the Industrial Revolution, the Olympic Games, the Human Genome Project, and of course, Facebook! Adam and Eve had become Bonnie and Clyde --- 'diplomats' of fortune-hunting 'intrigue.' God was worried but remained patient.
Of course, civilization development does not come without a cost. That cost came in the form of 'Kingpin,' a nefarious and ruthless NYC underworld crime-boss and 'legitimate-business' tycoon, establishing ties to Microsoft, the Mexican government, and even North Korea (for munitions-sales!). Kingpin was the ultimate 'fat-cat,' and if there was a 'human' version of Satan on Earth, it was Kingpin! Kingpin wanted to 'pervert' God's vision of a natural and bucolic innocent life of happy marriage between Adam and Eve and convert it into wrestling-entertainment exploitation, nuclear warfare, child prostitution, slave-labor, and pornography.
In this mix entered an eccentric 'anti-hero' named Wade Wilson, a 'wandering-poet' and democracy-philosopher of sorts who resolved to become an American 'super-vigilante' named 'Deadpool.' Deadpool scurried around American cities at night, looking for villainous activity, suspicious politics, and narcotics traffic to overturn. Deadpool was like the Messiah, and God pondered if He should intervene to protect Deadpool from the scheming clutches of Satan (the Devil!). Satan had his own plans --- he wanted to corrupt Deadpool's idealism to market a potentially profitable new age video-game platform-experience, one based on raw violence, naked aggression, and criminal 'urges.' Satan's tool-of-choice was the controversially ultra-graphic (and super-violent) video game called Mortal Kombat X (the newest in the MK franchise which featured absolute psychopaths paired with 'shaman-warriors' in complete death-ritual combat sequences). Fortunately, Deadpool was a highly-skilled MKX player!
Deadpool challenged a minion of Kingpin who showed up at the highly-publicized L.A. MKX tournament to win prize-money for his master's empire. The Kingpin-minion chose Jason Voorhees as his MKX combat-avatar, and Deadpool chose the shaman-warrior Raiden (Oriental god of lightning!). The Jason-Raiden match was the Semi-Final match of the tournament, and it turned out to be the most exciting game of the tournament. After Deadpool won (by an extremely narrow margin!), Kingpin walked away fuming in disbelief that his 'aura' and empire were actually challenged in the arena of media/entertainment. Deadpool decided to write a poem by a lake to commemorate the incredible victory on behalf of humanity/democracy, and that's when God visited him and told him, "MKX is the perfect modernism symbol of human insanity, so keep up the good work...we have to undo everything the Devil has done to reignite Earth." Deadpool wondered if he had become like Jesus.
