Mueller is not just gathering information from Flynn. There are dozens of people being interviewed. Wherever the evidence points, Mueller goes in that direction. He just has to present sufficient evidence to the judge to get subpoenas. I understand he has subpoenaed records from Deutsche Bank, a bank Trump has had been dealings with for over 20 years, the banks that holds a number large outstanding Trump loans, and also a bank that has been fined over 650 million dollars last year in connection with Russian money laundering.
