And Pushing a code of conduct that creates poverty through equally lazy sloth.


Step 4 : I took my "king james version of the Holy Bible"... and I tossed it backwards over my right shoulder, straight into the garbage where it belongs.

Step 5 : I Walked OUT of the ghetto... I took what family I could get to come with me, and told the rest to enjoy the local stench.

Good thing I asked. I had assumed you were black. A white family trapped in a ghetto environment and a cycle like that, poverty-ridden, under-educated, etc. for so long (you start your family story "100 years before (your) my dad was born...") surely must be a relatively rare familial history in urban America. Some people would probably blame "bad genes" or some such nonsense for such a long period of lack of progress in your family but I'm not even going to speculate on the reasons. I'm just going to congratulate you on "pulling yourself up by the bootstraps" and escaping from that white ghetto wherever it is. I can't help but wonder though if you've found a way to help any of your other relatives (for instance that neice you mentioned) escape from such a suffocating environment?

My immigrant father got us out of Detroit when he got a job at Ford. Ford was majority black employees but those blacks chose to stay in Detroit and be ghetto rich. Cheap house but a Lincoln. My dad had a cheap car but moved us to a good school system. That got my brother into msu and now he's a VP making half a mill.

All those black people chose to stay in Detroit and send their kids to Detroit public schools.

My dad scrimped and saved to get us the hell out of Detroit. 2 or 3 years longer than it should have taken.

Can you believe my grandmother refused to leave? Died in Detroit 5 years ago. 91 years. They mugged her twice in her 80s. She's lucky they didn't do worse to a little old white lady. She had good neighbors.

I actually witnessed his father give this 10 year old boy, a pocket knife... yes 10 years old, a pocket knife, you read that correctly lol..... to go and attack me with it...

I kicked his ass and took the knife from him and called the cops.

But that's what they do... they give children weapons, comparatively lethal weapons for the body size.... to go and attack other kids with.

Step 1 : I went to Barnes and Noble, and I bought a stack of different, entry level science books.. the kind that the public school system doesn't use.
About Evolution, the Big Bang and the Solar System, the Earth's history, Wildlife... etc...

Step 2 : I read them

Step 3 : I wrote my final letter to "god", Accusing him of Inactivity, Habitual Laziness and Sloth, Not solving any of humanity's problems, and not Existing and passing off SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN LIES, to his followers
And Pushing a code of conduct that creates poverty through equally lazy sloth.


Step 4 : I took my "king james version of the Holy Bible"... and I tossed it backwards over my right shoulder, straight into the garbage where it belongs.

Step 5 : I Walked OUT of the ghetto... I took what family I could get to come with me, and told the rest to enjoy the local stench.

No, I'm not Black, I'm White.

Good thing I asked. I had assumed you were black. A white family trapped in a ghetto environment and a cycle like that, poverty-ridden, under-educated, etc. for so long (you start your family story "100 years before (your) my dad was born...") surely must be a relatively rare familial history in urban America. Some people would probably blame "bad genes" or some such nonsense for such a long period of lack of progress in your family but I'm not even going to speculate on the reasons. I'm just going to congratulate you on "pulling yourself up by the bootstraps" and escaping from that white ghetto wherever it is. I can't help but wonder though if you've found a way to help any of your other relatives (for instance that neice you mentioned) escape from such a suffocating environment?

My immigrant father got us out of Detroit when he got a job at Ford. Ford was majority black employees but those blacks chose to stay in Detroit and be ghetto rich. Cheap house but a Lincoln. My dad had a cheap car but moved us to a good school system. That got my brother into msu and now he's a VP making half a mill.

All those black people chose to stay in Detroit and send their kids to Detroit public schools.

Black people couldn't do what my dad did? He didn't worry if there were other Greeks in the neighborhood.

Ever hear of a little thing called "segregation"....maybe a lot of these blacks chose to stay because the burbs wasn't an option!!!!

I can't say I'm upset blacks didn't follow us into the burbs but other than not wanting to be the first and only black person in an all white school there was nothing stopping them.

Oh, you had to have the down payment for a loan for the home. That was tough for my dad too and he was living free with my grandmother.

There were no blacks in my new school until I got to highschool and the two brothers were really nice athletes and educated. No attitudes. Jocks.
