And its not obstruction... if they failed to go to court they are the ones who failed..There’s the problem though. If Trump can prevent all oversight by the legislative branch, he’s effectively removed the ability for the House to impeach.Theres nothing “routine” about abuse of power.
Good lord, did you think about what you just said?
Every president can be accused of "abuse of power" and impeached. Instead of impeaching Obama the GOP took him to court and won or lost fairly. As Turley said, the courts are there to help settle disagreements between the Executive and Legislative branches. Turley called impeaching Trump without a serious abuse of power an "abuse of power" by the House. They have the authority to impeach, but not the moral authority, or the public and senate would be on their side.
One more time. The House needs to go to the courts to get the "official call" on what the WH needs to do or not do.
The House doesn't want to involve the 3rd branch because they know they'd lose in court.
If the House won in court Trump would have to comply, or that would be obstruction and impeachable.
Hate to break it to you but they have gone to the courts. They’ve won every case but Trump’s legal team can keep submitting illogical and dubious arguments to string this out until after the election. That’s not okay.
Of note, Trump isn’t fighting the subpoenas. They’re just ignoring them. That’s not okay either.
1. Trump has every right to appeal a court decision, until its final. That is very ok.
2. The House is ignoring the subpoenas instead of taking them to court. Nothing to do with Trump, tell the House to get off their asses and push for them.
