The impact of global warming policies.

Except your thread title and first two, leading sentences are filled with comment/reference to "global warming" so you aren't making clear what you think the topic is.

Oh my fucking word.

Really? You see "global warming" and all you can think this thread about is "global warming"

You can't actually READ WHAT IS FUCKING WRITTEN? You can't read ALL OF IT? You literally read "global warming" and wham, your mind's off on debunking fucking man made global warming because... what? What's the fucking problem here?

We must conquer nature. And then work with it. Massive building of structures on barrier islands and flood zones are made to look like global warming to the general population. Some cities have built structures to the ocean to get every view a person can get. Moving structures back at least a block on barrier islands is common sense if the ocean is slowly encroaching. Instead, we are still building on every square inch we can.

Still not the topic of conversation. Try reading what I wrote. It's simple. Well, I thought it would be simple, but it seems writing "global warming" is like have a Communist flag up for a bull, the bull's like "shit, bull fighting time" and the Communist is like "no, it's just a Communist flag, what do you think of Communism" and the bull's like "get my horn right if his fucking crotch."

Your reasoning is a bit confused

You start off ok by saying that we should not be fighting man-made global warming since its not the cause of rising temps

But then you say we should do it anyway just for the heck of it

No.
I start off by talking about global warming. Global warming happened 100,000 something years ago, 200,000 something years ago, 300,000 something years ago. It's natural. It happens.

The debate, the fight, is whether it's man made or not. This is a fact. People are doing this. They're debating whether it's one or the other. I guess some people might think it's not happening, just their balls got caught in the heater or something.... or they have Alzheimer's and don't remember last year.

Then I say "Either way..." and talk about what governments are doing. More facts.

Then I show an example of one of these policies. Then I provide a link. Then I talk about how this policy has a beneficial impact for some people, especially people who don't own their own home yet.

I mean, if people find this confusing, really, what elementary school do they go to? Or did they get kicked out before graduating elementary school? Reading a whole post before commenting isn't that hard, is it? (seems it is. ).

WTF are you kidding me????
Thread title: The Impact of Global warming policies.
"GLOBAL WARMING" is THE topic of this thread!!!!
The pseudo-religious belief that Humans are RESPONSIBLE for ANY climate change is a giant CROCK OF BULLSHIT!!!!!
It is unprovable FAITH BASED supposition.
It is a HUGE fucking SCAM started in 1988 but Michael Mann and AL Gore, Et AL!
How fucking primitive! THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!
Might as well go FULL AZTEC and offer Human sacrifice to appease the weather gods!
:banghead:

"policies" is also in the thread.

It's not about "global warming", it's about "global warming policies", think about it. THINK THE FUCK ABOUT IT.

It's like you see a thread called "blue tits" and you think it's a porn thread because "it got 'tits' in the title"

REALLY? Is that the level you're working on?

Clearly you didn't read any of what I wrote to figure out what the fuck this conversation is about.

The policies are just as much BULLSHIT as are the "reasons" for them!
It's all a POWER GRAB and useful IDIOTS like YOU are helping these POLICIES come to fruition!

No.

You claim that forcing landlords to spend a lot of money retrofitting homes to be more energy efficient will save the renters money.

Which is not supportable since their rent will go up

Actually what will happen is that people will sell their houses. This will reduce house prices, making them more accessible to people who can't buy their own homes. They buy, there are less renters, so those people buy their own homes will have more money.

I get the schizophrenic the retort. Unfortunately, the ones who have the real power diminish the peasant in all ways.

Meaning existing owners will sell the homes to buyers who are exempt from the expensive new mandates?

Of course not

Rents must go up to pay for the renovations

Or maybe rents will even go down. But the point was about home buyers. I didn't say everyone would benefit from this. That house prices go down is a great start.

House prices are not going down

You might hope that the selling price of rental property will fall by the amount of what the mandates will cost

But even that is doubtful

And even that will involve considerable loss for existing landloards

So, global warming, it seems to be happening, the debate is whether it's man made or not.

Either way, governments are putting in policies in order to try and deal with "man made global warming" whether it's a thing or not.

Here's the British government forcing landlords to have an efficiency rating for their homes of "C or above".

The impact is that thousands of landlords prefer to sell these houses rather than spend loads of money to make these homes better.

The result could be that house prices fall, which is something that's in desperate need in the UK, it could also result in poor people not having to spend so much heating their rented homes, potentially saving them money in the long term.

I don't agree that we should be fighting "man made global warming", I do believe that we should be trying to be as efficient as possible, to live with as small a footprint on this planet as possible, because the planet is our home and people tend to want to keep their homes clean and livable.
My opinion is this;

1. Global warming is real. It is undeniable that world temps are rising

2. Man is probably responsible for at least a small part of it, maybe even a big part

3. It's stupid to think we can reverse it and it is stupid to spend trillions of dollars trying to fight it. The only real reasonable thing to do about it is to adapt.

That's your opinion, and it doesn't respond to the topic. Perhaps you'd also like to give me your opinion on cats playing in the NFL, that'll be just as off topic as what you've written.

If there are more houses on the market than there are people buying at those prices, then yes, house prices will go down.

The thread title is the impact of global warming policies. My post was about Climate Change, AKA, global warming.
