You can be for limiting or controlling immigration (which is his stance) without resorting to fear mongering, slander, or racist rhetoric in support of that ideal. If Trump would maintain his policy position but at least attempt to act rational I don't think anybody would be having this discussion and he'd probably find a lot more support from both hispanic voters as well as the population in large.
