It's so perplexing the US Government chooses to kill secular leaders who actually respect Christians in the Middle East. What's going on?

On Palm Sunday, Syrian President Assad visited a Christian church to mark the beginning of Holy Week, a most important time on the Christian calendar. Though not himself a Christian, Assad, for all his faults, has maintained Syria as a multi-confessional, secular state, where Christians and other religious minorities can worship freely. As RPI's Daniel McAdams tells RT in the below interview, if the Trump Administration has its way and Assad is overthrown, it will likely be the last Palm Sunday for Christians in Syria...

The Last Palm Sunday in Syria?

If Hitler had only visited a synagogue, he would have been considered a mensch.

Apples & Oranges. Saddam Hussein in Iraq respected Christians and included them in his Government. Yet the US was so obsessed with killing him. It doesn't make much sense. And Assad is a Western-educated secular leader who's also shown he respects Christians. So why such a rush to kill him? Those who are fighting him in Syria, are not as inclined to respect other religious faiths. It's such a mess over there. What are we doing?
