Tony Blinken just gave China the green light on Taiwan. Whether accidental or purposeful, that was an extremely dangerous statement that needs to be clarified IMMEDIATELY.

The USA concluded it couldn't realistically invade Taiwan in WW2, and at that time Taiwan only had 30,000 poorly-equipped Japanese on it. The USA calculated it would take twice the size of the D-Day invasion to even try. Taiwan is a mountainous fortress.

China doesn't have anything close to the logistics to support an invasion. China would have to muster at least a million soldiers. That would take months, and it would be very obvious to the whole world. Taiwan would see it, prepare for war, and massacre those million soldiers.

American doctrine is to keep enough forces to simultaneously fight two major wars and one minor war. The USA is not giving full aid to Ukraine, because we count that as the minor war. The USA still maintains the forces for fighting two major wars simultaneously.

It is good that Biden pulled the USA out of Afghanistan, as staying there would have stretched US forces thin. Biden, being really smart, saw the Russian invasion that was going to happen.

1. Invading Taiwan (Formosa) was never considered because it didn't hurt Japan's military or homeland. It had no strategic value in WW2 for the US. Iwo Jima was a much better island. Much closer to the US and Japan than Taiwan.
