By the late 90's I learned how to develop for the web with ASP, JavaScript. Since then I've moved onto .Net, JQuery, SQL Server, C#, some Java. Yes, I've seen jobs goto to India. No doubt it sucks. But it's been my experience that competent developers who write good code, regardless of age, are in demand. I've also witnessed the older a developer gets, the harder it is for him/her to change and learn new technology. It's a tough business with ever changing technology, demands and deadlines.
