The Planned Destruction of Christians in Syria

The Muslim Brotherhood isn't the main faction in Syria.

so which faction would you say is the "main" one.....?

in fact the Muslim Brotherhood does not have separate military forces but it has infiltrated many of the various rebel armed forces.....

even the so-called 'moderate' FSA (Free Syrian Army) has been infiltrated with the Muslim Brotherhood...among many Sunni Islamists the MB is considered to be one of the more 'moderate' groups....

Zuhdi Jasser, a member of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, testified that reports indicate that armed rebels affiliated with the FSA raided the Christian-populated al-Duvair village in Syria and massacred all its civilian residents, including women and children.

Rev. Majed El Shafie, founder of One Free World International, testified that the Islamist factions in Syria, which he said include Muslim Brotherhood, Salafist, and al Qaeda-linked groups, "are rapidly overtaking the undisciplined and poorly organized rebels as they have in other countries..." He fears that these Muslim groups will "cleanse Syria of the 'infidels' – Christians and other minorities – and establish an Islamist state."

"In fact," he said, "this process has already begun."

The FSA is still by far the main "faction". It is true that the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood has its hands in funding some of the FSA Brigades, but the Brotherhood's ideological structure is pretty weak in Syria and has been since the 80's.

the Brotherhood is the only group that is really organized politically.....because of its infiltration everywhere and with help from Obama it would become the frontrunner eventually because the rest are so disorganzied.....of course the Saudis may differ....

The National Council does include Brotherhood members, but the Brotherhood itself is mostly only popular with exiled communities. They may be organized, but they lack ideological infrastructure on the ground in Syria. Most FSA fighters have grown up in a Syria that has largely been void of Brotherhood activity.

The OP link's wisdom on Egypt: "...a true people's revolution that has brought the military to power".

Funnier words have never been written.

may be funny to you....but to them the alternative was not....

It just demonstrates the incredibly mental twists and leaps people suffering from Obama Derangement Syndrome are going. Now they are defending the Syrian regime and the Egyptian military which is strafing the people in the streets. This is what happens to people who see everything in black and white. They write funny shit like what I quoted.

"strafing people in the streets".......you mean strafing the MB in the streets....? the ones who attempted to suppress the Egyptian people so badly they had a second uprising bigger than the first.....? you mean the ones who are torching churches and killing Christians.....?

you're the 'deranged' one...

The "second uprising" was a military coup. That's not how you address disagreement in a democracy. And the coup has done little but strengthen the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda while simultaneously killing any hope for a democratic Egypt.

that hasn't stopped them before....and the fact that FSA and other groups are already attacking Christians bodes no good for the future of minority groups like the Christians...

Have they been attacking Christians in Syria?

No.

They've been killing children and the rw's don't give a flying fuck about dead children.

Even traitorous scum Rand Paul praised Assad and now is planning to filibuster. Easier to do that then actually do his job.

As usual, the right is on the side of the enemy against their own country. Assad is a monster but if Hitler himself were to come back to life, the right would be on his side against their own country.

Edited to add - I'm not particularly in favor of certain types or degrees of military action.

that may be how you see it.....but try telling that to the 30 million or so Morsi protestors....

they welcomed the military takeover.....the much-favored alternative to the MB....

That's not how grievances are settled in democracy. Bush had abysmally low support rates during his second term that wouldn't have justified a military takeover of our civilian government. Why we have a different standard for Egypt is beyond me.

do you really think Morsi and the MB constituted "democracy" in Egypt......?

Morsi was voting into power via democratic elections, the Brotherhood was voted into the legislature via democratic elections, and the constitution was ratified via democratic voting / referendum.

It doesn't matter if you like them or not, the Muslim Brotherhood was overwhelmingly voted into power through democratic means and despite the fact that the military tried to prevent them from wining the presidency.

of course it doesn't matter if i like them or not.....however the Egyptian people don't like them.....that's why half the country was in the streets protesting Morsi....

as the interim president Mansour said about Morsi....."he betrayed the ballot box"....

Morsi promised economic progress but delivered nothing...
Morsi turned basically into a dictator....he focussed only on consolidating his own power...
Morsi supported implementing sharia law per the Muslim Brotherhood....
Morsi and the MB ignored the rights of women and secularists....
Morsi did nothing to stop the MB's widespread abuse and crime....including torture and murder...
Morsi appointed many MB members on the committee to write the new constitution....
Morsi placed himself above the nation's highest Court....

^these are NOT the actions of a leader of a democracy who is supposed to represent all the people....Morsi abused his democratically-elected office....some say he was worse than Mubarek....and that is why the Egyptian people kicked him out of office...

the Brotherhood has been banned before in Egypt....in Syria too.....the group hasn't changed much...

One really has to wonder why Obama supports this terrorist group...

Is President Obama about to become party to the Muslim Brotherhood's genocidal process? If so, how many Republicans besides McCain and Graham will join with Obama?

The planned destruction of Christians in Syria

Your article states:

That tells me we will need boots on the ground immediately if not already last week.

Rand Paul: Assad 'Protected Christians' in Syria, Rebels 'Attacking Christians' (VIDEO)

Christina Wilkie
9/1/13

WASHINGTON - Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Sunday portrayed the current conflict in Syria as one between the government of President Bashar Al Assad, who Paul said "has protected Christians for a number of decades," and "Islamic rebels," who Paul said "have been attacking Christians" and are aligned with Al Qaeda.

"I think the Islamic rebels winning is a bad idea for the Christians, and all of a sudden we'll have another Islamic state where Christians are persecuted," Paul said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Paul was likely referring to a string of incidents in Egypt in recent weeks, where supporters of the deposed government of former president Mohamed Morsi have burned Coptic Christian churches to protest what they see as Christian backing for the military overthrow of Morsi's government.

The article basically says that in addition to Obama... William Kristol, Karl Rove, John McCain and Lindsey Graham are, at least tacitly, part of the Muslim Brotherhood.

It is completely fucking insane, but also hilarious.

I guess it's not the first time members of the GOP formed deep partnerships with radical terrorists. Consider Reagan's partnership with Iran which came to light during the Iran-Contra hearings - but is NEVER talked about by the main stream media.

I guess it makes sense that the GOP would have deep ties to the Middle East. Reagan was heavily funded by Big Oil, which wanted to crush Carter and his plans for alternative energy. Carter wanted us out of the Middle East, a move which threatened Big Oil and the political party it owned.

Research the Bush oil partnerships with the Middle East ... in the Carlye Group. These partnerships are on the record, yet the GOP voters knows nothing about them because they are trapped in a hermetically sealed FOX News bubble.

As Carter was trying to get us out of the Middle East and trying to break our addiction to terrorist crude, Reagan was going back door to Iran, and selling weapons to terrorists.

Carter put Iraq on the official list of terrorist nations and reduced aid to Saudi Arabia. He wanted to move the USA away from oil, the profit cow of the GOP business alliance. Reagan reversed both those things: He removed Iraq from the list of terrorist nations and poured weapons and cash into Hussein's ascendancy. . . and greatly increased aid/weapons to the Saudis.

What if our great nation has been rolled by the party of big oil - and their Middle East partners?

Why doesn't the average GOP voter know anything about its party's ties to the Middle East? This is the real question and it is never asked.

What's amazing is that you are SHOCKED to see that there are people who don't wear partisan blinders.

Truth has no party.
