Putin to Megyn Kelly (last year): One of the hackers’ planted stories was that Mrs Clinton’s election campaign managers had acted unfairly with regard to other Democratic Party candidates. However, when that information appeared in the public domain, the campaign manager actually acknowledged that it was true and resigned.

Does it really matter who revealed it? They should have apologised to the public and they should have said before resigning, “We will not repeat these mistakes.” But what did they do? They said, “We are not to blame. It is the Russians.” What have the Russians got to do with it? Did the Russians engage in pushing through one Democratic Party candidate to the detriment of another candidate? Whatever the case might be, we did not do it. They were the ones who did it. Enough. The nation’s top spies told Congress Tuesday that Russia has taken steps to influence the 2018 U.S. midterm elections and plans to harness an arsenal of propaganda, social media, false personas, other means of influence to try to meddle in the American political system.

Coats was joined in testimony by other intelligence chiefs that included Central Intelligence Agency Director Mike Pompeo and National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers, who both agreed that Moscow had already taken steps to influence the 2018 elections.

“We have seen Russian activities and intentions to have an impact on the next election cycle,” Pompeo said.

Moscow still a threat to US elections
On Tuesday, Rogers reiterated that he still views Moscow as a threat to the 2018 elections, a stance that is consistent with what he and other top national security officials told the Senate Intelligence Committee earlier this month.

Sergey Lavrov: In the 1990s, Russia was seen as a disciple who must be tutored in the Western ways consistently and contrary to its protests. The predominant myth now is the alleged “omnipotent Russian threat,” the traces of which they are trying to find everywhere from Brexit to the Catalan referendum. Both stereotypes are profoundly mistaken and point to the lack of common sense and understanding of Russia.

Question: What can you say about the information published in the US media yesterday to the effect that $1.25 million of the Russian taxpayers’ money was used on a monthly basis to try to influence the outcome of elections in the United States. Do you think the investment paid off?

Sergey Lavrov: I have nothing to say about this, because one can publish just about anything. We can see growing numbers of accusations, allegations and statements. However, I also had the chance to read the statements by Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Jeanette Manfra, who dismissed reports with allegations that any particular country influenced the election results. As I understand, US Vice President Mike Pence said the same thing either here, or in one of the neighbouring capitals. So, until we have the facts, everything else is bunk, pardon my not too diplomatic turn of phrase.

Says Hillary Clinton once said "the average Democrat voter is just plain stupid, they’re easy to manipulate."

David A. Clarke Jr. on Saturday, December 30th, 2017 in a tweet

Despite David Clarke's tweet, no evidence Hillary Clinton ever called Democratic voters 'stupid'

Did Hillary Clinton Say Democratic Voters Are Stupid?
A quote from Hillary Clinton about Democratic voters' being 'stupid' and 'easy to manipulate' is a fabricated one.
