The U.S. Need Not be divided forever-The Case for Blood and Iron

Some have the capacity to communicate, collaborate, innovate and get America back on track.

Those who lack that capacity are best left out of the conversation. They are the problem.

That's exactly what Trump did: Communicate, innovate, and got America back on track again.

Unfortunately, your side refused to participate in it.
holy shit

Yeah, that non-stop shit storm of name-calling, personal insults, comical hyperbole and transparent lies really should have been appreciated more.

So you go from what you thought was "bad", to something worse?

I see. Please feel free to explain to me how a Biden/Harris presidency is going to make your country any better, and any safer from existential threats.

Simply taking two steps back into an imaginary copy of the Obama administration is going to make your life better? If you remember, things weren't really all that peachy from 2008-2016. There were still protests and riots, there were almost daily beheadings on the media from radical Islamic factions, American soldiers were being killed every day in the ME, higher gasoline and energy prices, school shootings....I could go on.
They're not going to make the country better from the perspective of you obedient Trumpsters.

Tough shit.

I was talking about from your perspective. How are they going to make your life any better, besides the fact that Trump is no longer President?

That's it in it's entirety? The fact that he's gone? And damn everything else?
I'll make this as simple as I can: I voted for Biden for the same reasons you voted for Trump. He is closer to me on the issues, and I strongly prefer his temperament over the alternative.

I would have preferred to vote third party, but Trump's presence gave me no choice. Again.

Now, hump someone else's leg. This is boring.

Then that explains the difference between us. I want a strong country that is safe and secure from our enemies, secure borders, streets safe from criminals, cheap energy, a good economy, a balance of trade with China and other countries, jobs, a vibrant market, a strong manufacturing sector, fair elections, lower taxes, and the rest of the world to fear and respect our power, and admire our prosperity.

You do not.

Sure, okay.

Blood and Iron (speech) - Wikipedia

The term coined by Bismarck often used to refer to the militarism and nationalism that helped create modern Germany. There are few things better to unite a people and a nation than a (perceived) external threat or a crusade to eliminate that threat and consolidate the power of a nation.

Personally, I've very tired of hearing about how divided the United States is and some repeatedly suggesting the U.S. needs to break up.

Wouldn't it be worth it to unite our country and give us renewed national purpose for at least a couple of decades or more?
Wouldn't it be worth it to save our nation?

The love, loyalty, and devotion of the American left is to advancing the interests of the Democratic Party and, in particular, its party elites. They haven't the slightest interest in "uniting" with poor and middle-class Americans.

Wouldn't WHAT be worth it? What, precisely, are you suggesting? That we should go out and start a war with someone to distract ourselves from the deep, diametrically-opposed divisions in our country?

The way we're going with a two-party system plus indepent parties, we'll never be unified. We were unified on 911 and should have been because of the pandemic.

But something has radically changed since then.

Dude, it's not the parties that are the problem. They're just a reflection of the much deeper problem.

What's changed radically is that we've grown so far apart that we have literally nothing in common. We don't even really speak the same language, although we sound like we do. We can't even communicate with each other any more, because the words all means something radically different, depending on who's using them.

Seriously, can you name one thing in the whole world that the left and right agree on? Or would even be able to find common ground for a compromise on?

Most wars are started by nations due to their internal political situations.

Well said.

The problem comes in identifying those with the capacity.

I'll take our political diversity over any consolidating the power of this nation. Power corrupts.

It is amazing that for four long years we have had nothing but attacks, accusations, impeachments, violence and obstruction from the left. Now they feel they have stolen the election and its all "Lets play nice and peacefully and save the nation." Fat chance commie. You reap what you sow. Commie Biden, Kameltoe and the democrats have four long years ahead of them. Payback is a bitch.

What internal political situation is driving Russia to want Alaska back? They're already retaken Crimea and attempted to take back Ukraine. They're currently carrying out military exercises in the Bering Sea, right off the Alaskan Coast.

How about China? They're already repatriated Hong Kong and are going after Taiwan next. Not to mention, their expansionism in the East and South China seas to the Himalayas and the southern Pacific.

If you can’t unite behind limited government, capitalism and freedom then why the hell should I join you in any other ventures?

Don’t come to me with this democrat-socialist, SJW get woke bullshit and think I’m going to help you in anything.

Haven't we been doing that for seventy years now?
