NY State of course as a state has the right to it's own laws. But they were used against a Man who had no intentions of abusing the NY Law. It is so rare in the USA that only 9 states even call it a crime.

Falsifying business records is also a crime in other states, such as Alabama,[15] Alaska,[16] California,[17] Delaware,[18] Hawaii,[19] Kentucky,[20] and Oregon.[21] In Maine, a similar crime is called falsifying private records.[22]

And these were private records, not used for some public purpose. And as if Trump had anything to do with entering them to begin with.

But, a Manhattan Democrat jury believed a liar named Michael Cohen; plus the judge, who basically told them to convict.

Even the British solders of the Boston Massacre received a fair trial, but not so in that Manhattan courtroom for President Trump.

One just because you have no intention to violate the law, if you do, you can be charged and found guilty for such violation; and two, you are right, it is a crime in NY and Trump violated the law, and has been found guilty for such violation.

Imagine you go to NY after you lived in any of the 9 states who do not have such a law and NY prosecutes you. I think you would change your mind very fast.

There are many laws that are illegal in one state but legal in another. Look at abortion and cannabis Laws.

And you agree to be prosecuted in those?

They prosecuted Trump using a law that expired. And said oh shit, let's not expire it yet. Get Trump.
If that were the case, Trump would have to have had the shittiest lawyers in the world not to have gotten the case dismissed or have filed an interlocutory appeal.

Do you see now it is a Supreme Court case? When some states prosecute for things most others do not, it is time for the Supreme Court to do it's thing.

All it took was to have the shittiest judge.

Never fear. The Supreme Court will hear.

NY doesn't have the laws that they convicted Trump of.

Nobody convicts anyone anywhere, when there's no underlying criminal act involved.

Each State has their own criminal state laws. Unless they violate the constitution, the law will be upheld. SCOTUS is very reluctant to declare state laws unconstitutional. The law Trump was charged under I beleive has been challenged and passed muster.

Congressman Greg Steube
@RepGregSteube

What is happening to President Trump is beyond the pale. It’s truly unbelievable that in the United States of America, the Democrats have weaponized our justice system to go after their political opponents in a presidential election.Regardless of the outcome, this entire trial is a sham. The American people see right through it.

Finally, the “R“ begin to make noise. Where were they in 2017? Russian Collusion hoax? 2019? 2020 Election Fraud? Even Ted Cruz chimes in ….. now, Must be vote time?

You may not see it clearly but you are saying almost prcisely what I said. You say SCOTUS is reluctant. Sure, but this case is a case begging to be looked at closely by the Supreme Court.

Thats not the worst part. The worst part is, Trump didnt break that law in NY. He wasnt in NY when he made that notation of "for legal fees" in his personal records. See how fucking crazy this case is?
