The World Occupy Made: DeBlasio Wins in NY

1.We probably should adopt one of the top 5 educational systems. Maybe Japan or Norway's?
2. Next we should do college reform as the price of going to college is has blown through the roof.
3. Maybe mandate that ceo/board member can't make more per year then 500 times his work forces average. IF there's more then that he either has to 1. pay the employee's more or 2. grow the business.
4. Banks that have foreclosed on homes should rent out the homes of 100-200 dollars/month.
5. Increase taxes on the rich making more then 1 million a year on capita gains and income tax.

"For the first time in 50 years, the California Supreme Court is revisiting the issue of the proper application of the property tax to intangible assets. In Elk Hills Power, LLC v. California State Board of Equalization, Case No. S194121, the court will address whether the California State Board of Equalization (the Board) may assess Elk Hills’ intangible Emission Reduction Credits (ERCs).

"In Elk Hills, the Board treated the ERCs as 'necessary' to put a power plant to 'beneficial or productive use' and thus taxable for property tax purposes. Because many businesses use intangible assets that are 'necessary' to the conduct of their businesses (e.g., trademarks, trade names, franchises, licenses, customer relationships, patents, and copyrights), the case has attracted attention across a broad spectrum of the California business community."

Theoretically, stocks and bonds could also be subject to an intangible property tax.

"Tens of millions of Americans... known as the Christian right, have begun to dismantle the intellectual and scientific rigor of the Enlightenment.

"They are creating a theocratic state based on 'biblical law,' and shutting out all those they define as the enemy.

"This movement, veering closer and closer to traditional fascism, seeks to force a recalcitrant world to submit before an imperial America..."

"Those who defy the mass movement are condemned as posing a threat to the health and hygiene of the country and the family.

"All will be purged..."

"Time is running out.

"If we do not act, American fascists, clutching Christian crosses, waving American flags and orchestrating mass recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance, will use this rage to snuff us out."

What's your definition of "fascism?"

Nationwide the Occubaggers changed nothing.
The damage done to this Nation beginning with the "Reagan Revolution" is so vast it will take much longer than one election cycle to repair. What the Occupy movement has achieved has been the awakening of public awareness of what has been done to them -- and by whom.

The election of this DiBlasio fellow is evidence of that awareness. He represents a very wide swing of the political pendulum.

Yes, it most certainly puts on display the ignorance of the voter. The election of de Blahsio shows that people are much mroe into superficial nonsense, slogans and memes than they are into solid ideas with the experience to back them up in this city.

de Blahsio won on "look, my family is multi-racial" and "we're going to tax the rich!"

Occupy may have provided a never ending supply of confusion, but i dont think they really get any credit here...unless they really want it. :lmao:

"Fascism /ˈfæʃɪzəm/ is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism[1][2] that came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.

"Influenced by national syndicalism, the first fascist movements emerged in Italy around World War I, combining more typically right-wing positions with elements of left-wing politics, in opposition to communism, socialism, liberal democracy and, in some cases, traditional right-wing conservatism.

"Although fascism is usually placed on the far right on the traditional left–right spectrum, fascists themselves and some commentators have argued that the description is inadequate."

Then why did your hero Adolph kill the communists instead of the capitalists?

"Fascists sought to unify their nation through a totalitarian state that promoted the mass mobilization of the national community,[5][6] and were characterized by having a vanguard party that initiated a revolutionary political movement aiming to reorganize the nation along principles according to fascist ideology.[7]

"Hostile to liberal democracy, socialism, and communism, fascist movements shared certain common features, including the veneration of the state, a devotion to a strong leader, and an emphasis on ultranationalism and militarism.

"Fascism views political violence, war, and imperialism as a means to achieve national rejuvenation[5][8][9][10] and asserts that stronger nations have the right to expand their territory by displacing weaker nations.[11]

"Fascist ideology consistently invokes the primacy of the state. Leaders such as Benito Mussolini in Italy and Adolf Hitler in Germany embodied the state and claimed indisputable power.

"Fascism borrowed theories and terminology from socialism but applied them to what it saw as the more significant conflict between nations and races rather than to class conflict, and focused on ending the divisions between classes within the nation."

U.S. President Barack Obama gives the commencement address to the graduating class of The Ohio State University at Ohio Stadium on May 5, 2013 in Columbus, Ohio.
"I dare you, Class of 2013, to do better. I dare you to do better," Obama said.
Obama also urged the students to "reject these voices" that warn of the evils of government, saying:
'Still, you'll hear voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that's the root of all our problems, even as they do their best to gum up the works; or that tyranny always lurks just around the corner. You should reject these voices

If someone is very wealthy and do not mind giving up half their fortune, I can understand why they might live in NYC, but people earning say around 500K, I can't for the life of me understand how they could stand living there.

Because THAT'S WHERE THE MONEY IS, Digital.

How many half million dollar a year jobs do you think there are in the rest of the America compared to WALL STREET?

According to an account I heard yesterday on Pacifica, the most opulent zip code in the United States is no longer in Beverly Hills; it is now just outside DC and attributable to the number of defense contractors and lobbyists living there.

One can only wonder if private fortunes even exist in the absence of standing armies?

"Fascism supports what is sometimes called a Third Position between capitalism and Marxist socialism.[14]

"Following World War II few parties have openly described themselves as fascist and the term is more usually used pejoratively by political opponents. The term neo-fascist or post-fascist is sometimes applied more formally to describe parties of the far right with ideological similarities to, or roots in, 20th century fascist movements, respectively."

I have no problem conceding Obama is a tool of US neo-fascists.
I can't help wondering if you will admit the same about the next Republican to occupy the oval office?
