There is no Tyranny!

There was tyranny in America, but you folks seem to have forgotten all about it. Some of you are wringing your hands over some weird perceived tyranny. Some paranoid 'survivalist' brand of tyranny. Some form of tyranny you seem to think can be suppressed if you only had enough ammunition at hand. But you are fools to think there is tyranny today.

None of you ever witnessed a lynching. None of you were ever asked to give up your seat on a bus or train because of your complexion. None of you have ever been subjected to poll taxes or forced to read a Chinese take out menu to prove your literacy at a voting booth. None of you were ever refused service at a restaurant or hotel simply because your pigmentation wasn't popular among the ruling class. None of you were interred during any of Bush's wars on Middle eastern people because you prayed in a mosque.

Tyranny as described by you fools is a hypothetical. You perceive tyranny even as none exists. Yet you rail against it while those who held the same political philosophy as you were the people instituting it. Anybody else see any irony there?

And how was that tyranny finally repressed? Was the Civil Rights movement one of armed insurrection? Did armed cadres of African Americans storm suburbs, affluent sections of our cities or government institutions? No. The wrongs instituted by tyrants was righted by peaceful protest and civil disobedience. That's a valuable lesson for you wannabe Rambos to learn.

When those upset by the perception of tyranny try to resolve their grievances by force of arms, we get Oklahoma City. When people who ACTUALLY suffer tyranny redress their grievances by peaceful protest, we get Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Take your pick.

That's right, the government of the USA is NOT a "rogue" government, it is not tyrannical.

All you clowns claiming otherwise are insulting the people of the world who do live under a tyrannical government.

Grow up!
Thanks for straightening that out for us Twinkie.

You were not the only Americans who were persecuted because of your race.
At one time or another in our history
Irish Americans could not get jobs.
German Americans were hung in WWI and WWII
Japanese were put in camps WWII
Many besides Black Americans were refused service in Restraints and Stores because of their race.
We have had many persecutions throughout our history and we eventually overcame all of them so far and we will continue to overcome them in the future and not by force of arms.

I'm not Black. I'm of Scottish descent. And I'm an American not susceptible to hyperbole.

The 16 and a half trillion dollars and still rising, that our future generations are going to have to pay for.

Damn, this is how badly our public schools have failed our children.

Let me tell you what tyranny is NOT:

Tyranny is NOT taxes or debt imposed or accumulated by a LEGALLY ELECTED GOVERNMENT, Even if you disapprove yourself.

It's called financial tyranny.
tyranny - undue severity or harshness.
Our future generations will be forced to pay all of the debt that has been racked up.
When they will not be able to do what they wish with their own money that they earn, because the government is taking a lot from their pay checks, that is a form of tyranny,

How easily some grasp at the crutch of hyperbole. How is the cognitive leap from political disagreement to tyranny made? What facilitates such an unfounded ratcheting up of discourse? Is it spurred on by so called pundits? Is it fed by political ignorance? Is it the result of viewing governance in the same manner sports fans cheer on their favorite teams?

And how does it serve our system of governance? By producing gridlock? By re-enforcing the "us versus them" mentality?

Certainly no good can come from political polarization and hyperbole is the mid wife of the unwanted child that is political polarization.

I agree with you, the hyperbole appears to be king in today's political discourse. Out of the reasons given I go for the sports analogy. Sports is the highest level of thought that many engage in. All us vs. them thinking.

If some of these partisan hacks around here could grow a brain, they would see that, despite our problems and differences of opinion, we have it pretty damn good in this country. That is fact.

That is a debt, not tyranny. What are you willing to give up to solve that problem?

Grow up!

It is a tyrannical government when it creates laws that infringe on the rights of it citizen.
It is a tyrannical government when it can force you to do anything.

Is it a tyrannical government that allows for those laws to be changed?

What is it you believe the government is "forcing" you to do?

I assure you that I am not being "forced" to do anything. I have not spoken to any individuals who have been "forced" to do anything. I do not see citizens rounded up and imprisoned or killed for not following these mysterious orders "forcing" them to do something.

So what is the government "forcing" you to do?

Every government and every law infringes on some citizen in some way. That is the purpose of law. It keeps me from smashing in your head and taking your stuff. That is not tyranny.
What exactly is it that you are being forced to do that you see as so tyrannical?

Having citizen's assassinated by use of drones would be a form of what?

No citizen has to be rounded up to kill them obama can order a drone to do a air strike.
