There was tyranny in America, but you folks seem to have forgotten all about it. Some of you are wringing your hands over some weird perceived tyranny. Some paranoid 'survivalist' brand of tyranny. Some form of tyranny you seem to think can be suppressed if you only had enough ammunition at hand. But you are fools to think there is tyranny today.
None of you ever witnessed a lynching. None of you were ever asked to give up your seat on a bus or train because of your complexion. None of you have ever been subjected to poll taxes or forced to read a Chinese take out menu to prove your literacy at a voting booth. None of you were ever refused service at a restaurant or hotel simply because your pigmentation wasn't popular among the ruling class. None of you were interred during any of Bush's wars on Middle eastern people because you prayed in a mosque.
Tyranny as described by you fools is a hypothetical. You perceive tyranny even as none exists. Yet you rail against it while those who held the same political philosophy as you were the people instituting it. Anybody else see any irony there?
And how was that tyranny finally repressed? Was the Civil Rights movement one of armed insurrection? Did armed cadres of African Americans storm suburbs, affluent sections of our cities or government institutions? No. The wrongs instituted by tyrants was righted by peaceful protest and civil disobedience. That's a valuable lesson for you wannabe Rambos to learn.
When those upset by the perception of tyranny try to resolve their grievances by force of arms, we get Oklahoma City. When people who ACTUALLY suffer tyranny redress their grievances by peaceful protest, we get Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Take your pick.
