The USSC SHOULD be the most NON-Partisan court in the entire country, NOT influenced by any personal / political ideology / believe, etc, but should be guided purely by the Constitution.

'Lady Justice' is wearing a blindfold because everyone should be equal in the eyes of the law and justice should not be tainted by agenda, ideology, etc...

That being said, we are all big boys and girls, and we KNOW the partisan politics of the President making the pic matters a helluva lot and that said President more often than not seeks to select a Justice that leans towards his / his party's views.

Is it possible to find a judge that TRULY does not allow partisan politics / ideology to affect their ability to be a 'non-partisan' Justice?

A better question would be is there any chance Obama would actually seek out such a non-partisan Judge?! All evidence is to the contrary.

It may not be a "nice" thing to say, but Scalia was very partisan...or, at least, made no pretense to be an impartial arbiter of the law......Heck, this guy was hunting with Cheney while adjudicating a case that involved Cheney's interests ....and his latest (and last) excursion was at a luxury resort owned by a guy who comped the bill for Scalia...and this guy has a pending court case before the USSC.

Go figure......not only did Scalia showed partiality with his actions, but he made NO pretense to even hide his biases.

You are under the mistaken impression that our system of government requires or desires individuals who are of perfect character. When in fact, the government created by the framers was so designed precisely for imperfect, biased, impartial human beings.

He was a partisan for the constitution, and unlike,the lesser intellects on the liberal side, he made bulletproof arguments that are,legion in law schools. Scalia was a good justice at one time. He got crotchety in his old age.

His dissenting opinions on Gay marriage are contrary to things he's said on similar issues in years past.


There's a DC circuit court judge that was approved 97-0 that Obama appointed. He should name him. Then I'd like to hear turtle man's reason for not even holding hearings.

Yes. We don't need a left leaning court pissing off the right just like we didn't need Bush putting two right wingers on the court like Alito and Roberts.

You guys have to admit the court got pulled really far to the right after Bush appointed those two partisan hacks.

So funny Republicans loved talking about judges legislating from the bench but that's exactly what they were doing. They NEVER sided against corporations ever since Alito and Roberts got in.

Remember Sandra Day O'Conner was a conservative judge, and even she was concerned when Alito and Roberts weren't following stare decisis.
