>> Rocco DiSipio is a small-business owner in a working-class neighborhood where times aren’t quite as good as they once were. He isn’t used to being interviewed by reporters, but it’s primary season, and journalists want to know what the man-on-the-street thinks of the brash conservative candidate who seems to do everything wrong — and keeps winning anyway.

“This election has some racism,” admits DiSipio, acknowledging that his candidate can be blunt, or worse. His pick doesn’t have the typical qualifications, either, but for DiSipio, that’s part of the appeal. “He’s going to stand behind his word if it kills him. He can flunk at it, but you can’t say he won’t try.”

Traditional elites and professional politicians are baffled that such a man could rise so high in the polls. He defies political conventional wisdom at every turn, flouting party leaders and blithely dropping quotes that would wreck any other campaign. “This is not a normal election,” a Republican operator tells a Washington Post reporter. “All normal voting patterns are out the window.”

This sounds like a dispatch from the Republican presidential primary campaign, and the candidate sounds a lot like Donald Trump.

But the quotes are actually from Philadelphia circa 1971, a time when a big bloc of the city fell for a different candidate who radiated authority and charisma — someone who would take charge and tell things as they were. That candidate was Frank Rizzo, whose unpolished tough-guy bravado, labor-friendly conservative populism and strident appeals for law and order spoke directly to the concerns of struggling working- and middle-class whites. Today, Donald Trump makes a very similar case to very similar voters.

Both men are known for their outsized personalities, unfiltered rhetoric, hatred for the media and utter assurance in their own righteousness. Both weaponized calculated bursts of invective: Rizzo promised to “make Attila the Hun look like a faggot,” while Trump assures his fans that he’ll “bomb the shit out of ISIS.” << (link below)

Those who know Donald Rump personally often cite the stark differences between his private personality and the public act he performs like some dadaist comedic actor. Well here's a guy who has nailed the character that Rump has been playing all this time --- Frank Rizzo.

For those of you not old enough to remember Frank Rizzo was the longtime police commissioner of Philadelphia who then ran for and became Mayor. Tried to change the charter to run for a third term and got rejected, but kept trying.

Like Rump, Rizzo was something of a narcissist, extremely full of himself, and couldn't handle criticism.

Like Rump, Rizzo was an asshole who pushed people around and spat on civil liberties and thought the law and the Constitution didn't apply to him. Typical Narcissist behavior.. At the time we called him "Oink Piggo".

>> The officers performed a strip-search on the arrested Black Panthers before cameras, after a Fairmount Park Police Officer had been murdered. The picture ran on the front page of the Philadelphia Daily News and was seen around the world [8][9] Days later the charges against the Panthers were dropped for lack of evidence. Subsequently the search was ruled illegal. Four people unrelated to the Panthers were ultimately found guilty of the murder.[10] << (Wiki)

Like Rump, Rizzo was a Democrat-turned-Republican for political convenience (actually in Rizzo's case a Republican-turned-Democrat to get elected-turned-Republican again). Like Rump, Rizzo was fat ('portly" as they kindly call it), in fact physically they're built remarkably similar.

Like Rump, Rizzo was a liar who never apologized or acknowledged being wrong. At one point he was accused of corruption, denied it, was challenged to take a lie detector test, took the test, and failed, ending his chances of getting any higher office than Mayor.

>> After Camiel accused Rizzo of offering patronage in exchange for influencing the choice of candidates for district attorney and city comptroller, Rizzo called Camiel a liar. A reporter from the Philadelphia Daily News asked Rizzo if he would submit to a polygraph test to prove Camiel was lying. Rizzo agreed, as did Camiel. "If this machine says a man lied, he lied," Rizzo famously said before the test.[12] But the polygraph revealed that Rizzo had lied and Camiel had not. The scandal ended any hope Rizzo had of becoming governor. He discontinued his press conferences for nearly two years and attempted to rebuild his public support by appealing directly to voters.[13] << (ibid)

What ever happened to Frank Rizzo you ask? Well, he was in the middle of yet another campaign to return to City Hall when his "portly" ass keeled over from a massive heart attack and died, at the age of 70. The same age Rump just turned.

But...but....but....Trump is so much worser!

Fear mongering. The only viable Dim rally cry.

This is just like Germany before the Nazis: Heaps of Cultural Marxists pushing their agenda too hard.

How many people are the libs gonna compare Trump to in an effort to make us all think we should vote for Crooked and Sickly Hillary?

Those who ignore possum boy are happier human beings.

Indeed, as they say "ignorance is bliss". Such people look like this:

Wimpy-Hamburger.jpg

What can be more blissful than never having to think any deeper than "free hamburger".

Brave Sir Ernie ran away, he bravely ran away...
When he met a real political point, he bravely turned and left the joint
When history raised its sobering head, he gallantly chose "Ignore" instead
Brave, brave brave brave Sir Ernie!

So I did a word search on my own OP for the word "Hillary". Got zero.

Pogo's Law wins again. :eusa_dance:

You're voting Trump?!?!?

trump is an asshole and you have only one link to an asshole winning.

and note, he got re-elected.

hillary is a socialist-globalist, there's tons of stories about socialism destroying a country

but you ignore that and keep voting for more of it.

Those who ignore history.....

Vote democrat

To be fair, with your head inserted in your buttocks, how is one to study history?
Just listen to democrats and realize everything they say about history is opposite to history...

Whelp ---- once again, there's a whole multilayered case full of historical incidents right there in the OP. Not hard to find.
Your job is to either prove it wrong or admit it's right. You seem to lean to the latter.

So far not a single post has actually addressed the topic.
Not a one.

Every time Pogo's Law is proven I get a royalty check.
Thanks for that.
