Romania tried to not only ban abortion but birth control. the end result was that the birth rate spiked for one year, and then people figured out how to do home abortions and it plummeted again. They thanked the dictator who thought this was a wonderful idea by shooting him.

The Philippines also outlaws abortions. Yet it is estimated that 500,000- 800,000 abortions are performed in the Philippines every year. That's actually a HIGHER abortion rate than the United States.

Now, if you nutters were serious about reducing the number of abortions, you'd support universal health care, comprehensive sex education and birth control, and so on.

But you don't. Not really.

Okay, let's take this apart.

1) F&F- sorry, guy, besides the fact is isn't certain a F&F gun killed that Border Patrol agent (the slug was unidentifiable) do you really think that these drug dudes wouldn't have gotten a gun from somewhere else. 200,000 guns cross the border every year, that's the point they were trying to investigate.

2) Solyndra- Program was approved by Bush and it was expected some of the companies would fail. No scandal there.

3) MOnica- okay, last time I checked, sticking a cigar up someone's hoo-ha isn't a crime if she consents. And, no, perjury is rarely prosecuted and almost never results in prison time. Especially in a case where the judge threw it out for lack of evidence.

When I was in the service, I knew this gal who was engaged to a fellow NCO. Guy pretty much treated this girl like dirt because he could get away with it, and she manipulated everyone in their circle of friends. Just kind of a jerky situation all around.

Anyway, she was brought up Catholic, strict Asian family background, and one day, she decided to stop taking her birth control pills to force this guy to make good on his promise to marry her. He didn't. She got an abortion. Then they got back together again... and the same thing happened.

The only smart thing is that I stopped having anything to do with either one of them after that.
