They did paraphrase a quote about how he retired as an E-8 because he had not completed the E-9 course. That isn't a demotion, guy.

If you are an E-9 and they drop you to E-8 for not fulfilling your your duty that’s a demotion my guy.

Thats what the national guard said, and he lied on his bio about being at E-9.
