Serving in the invasion of Vietnam and Iraq were illegal and should have never happen and I protested both of them. Lives were saved when we finally withdrew from Vietnam and Afghanistan. We also committed war crimes in both wars.
During the war, 95 U.S. Army personnel and 27 U.S. Marine Corps personnel were convicted by court-martial of the murder or manslaughter of Vietnamese.
Between 2003 and 2011, Amnesty International documented US forces' engagement in rampant violations, including indiscriminate attacks that killed and injured civilians, secret detention, secret detainee transfers, enforced disappearance, torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment.
