Time to invest in our country like Mexico, China, India, etc. Americans are going to die if we don't start rebuilding our nations infrastructure. Do you understand?

Let's set our goal at going back to at least 320 billion in 2009. Let's lead the world again!

Put green technology development into OVERDRIVE, invest $$$ into domestic tourism for foreigners.
Hammer down on monopolies.

So much for all that "stimulus" money huh? The same extra 850 BILLION goddamned dollars we've continued to spend for the last 4 friggin years on those "shovel ready" jobs the moonbat messiah joked about not being "as shovel ready as we anticipated"?

Please tell me how much more we need to spend for zero results.

Solyndra ring a bell. All that money spent on shovel ready jobs, and so LITTLE INFRASTRUCTURE REPAIRS.

What a WASTE. And now some are pushing for it again, and much is needed, after SQUANDERING SO MUCH MONEY BACK THEN.

Time to stop siphoning so much of the people's resources off to feed a bloated, every expanding, ever more expensive federal government, and then we would have much more resources available to use for what we most need where we most need it.

1. Maybe some high speed rail where it's economic. Certainly.
2. Green technology like wind, solar, nuclear, hydro=oh yes. Let's power our nation and rebuild our energy infrastructure.
3. Maybe we could open up on tourism and build big buildings like China, U.A.E.
4. This has to be done wisely, but allowing smaller businesses to get into the game=good.

Hey, OBAMACARE IS GONNA SAVE US MONEY. Remember that BS.

Price tag DOUBLED, and insurance rates STILL GOING UP UP AND AWAY.

It's SUPERMAN OBAMA at your local used car lot.

Yeah, when it's forced money into the private industry, the insurance companies got boners while their eye pupils turned into dollar signs.

1. BULLSHIT. Americans like CARS. They're liberating, you don't have to wait for them.
2. BULLSHIT. Nothing is better than oil. Get over it bed wetters, global warming is bullshit too.
3. We have plenty of tourism.
4. Nothing done by bed wetting leftists can be called wise. Stay the fuck out of our way while we unfuck all the shit you've done for the last 50 years.

If you don't like it, they're hiring rice farmers in North Korea. You'll be able to "retire" much faster there. Or be the first asshole to float south to Cuba, either way you won't be missed.

1. So local tax payers can't choose where their money goes? If trains are needed why not??? I'll agree that cars are good, but let's not limit our selves as we're better off with many options.
2. True for Cars currently...But at this rate who knows within 10, 20 or 30 years? Our energy infrastructure; I really believe that becoming less dependent on it would help us be less dependent on the middle east.
3. Maybe.
4. Maybe...Look at how fast china can build their country. wow.

I'd rather not go near north Korea.

1. People with the money to pay taxes own cars. I can even tolerate some subsidies for buses/trains for "low income" people to get to work, but the expense needs to be limited.

2. Someday we'll find something better than oil fueled vehicles. It isn't here yet, and the envirobullshit excuse for subsidizing failed industries is getting old.

3. I think there's plenty of tourism. We have some of the most awesome natural parks in the world. Multicultural cities that cannot be rivaled anywhere else, and historical monuments that have been untouched by all the wars of the last 200 years.

4. China didn't build the way it has through central planning and collectivization. They allowed capitalism to flourish. They have lower taxes than we do. They just maintained the tyrannical statism commonly found in leftist oligarchies.

If you would prefer not to go to North Korea, why would you promote philosophies that lead to the establishment of places like that? Can we have JUST ONE country on earth where people are free to sink or swim?

Does the left believe that we aren't spending money on infrastructure? I have been inconvenienced by construction of an extra lane on an interstate bridge in Va. for at least the last two years. Has anybody driven through Pa in the last couple of years or Maryland? The road construction seems like it will never end. .

Time to build a high speed rail system nationwide.

Why pour money into a transportation system that not enough people will use in order to recoup the costs of building and maintaining it?

Put green technology development into OVERDRIVE, invest $$$ into domestic tourism for foreigners.

Already a proven loser. Hundreds of millions have been flushed down the toilet on bankrupt companies like Solyndra and others. For every green job gained in Spain, they lost two non-green jobs.

Hammer down on monopolies.

Already illegal and has been for a hundred years.

I'd ride the rail if I could. Beats going the speed limit by car.
If we had something like the autobahn, then I'd be sticking to the car the whole way. Or motorcycle to really make progress.

Wrong. Infrastructure projects create jobs. And jobs get American's paychecks. And when American's get paychecks, they spend them on the economy. Nothing gets the economy growing again faster than construction projects, because they affect so many other industry's.

BTW, when the government pays to rebuild a bridge, after that money is spent, at least you have a bridge!

I'd certainly opt for a high speed train over a plane for a 400 to 600 mile trip. It would save time when you consider travel to and from airports, going through security, etc.
I'd also use high speed for longer trips, because I enjoy train travel.

I'm astounded.

What is it about the autobahn that you think makes it superior to our interstate system? Is it because it was built by a despotic socialist dictator?

If you could see the look on my face....

We have a rail system. My mother is scared to death of air planes. She spends 4 times as much to travel 4 times longer on the Amtrak system that has never been profitable.

There's no comparison between the present Amtrak and high speed trains that are in use in Europe, Japan, and China. You should do some research.

Solyndra, the battle cry of the tea baggers. How much? Half a billion. Not a lot of money when compared to Iraq. Nobody got killed with Solyndra either. That ought to count for something with the right to lifers.
