Time to spend money on Infrastructure

Time to build a high speed rail system nationwide.
Put green technology development into OVERDRIVE, invest $$$ into domestic tourism for foreigners.
Hammer down on monopolies.

1. Maybe some high speed rail where it's economic. Certainly.
2. Green technology like wind, solar, nuclear, hydro=oh yes. Let's power our nation and rebuild our energy infrastructure.
3. Maybe we could open up on tourism and build big buildings like China, U.A.E.
4. This has to be done wisely, but allowing smaller businesses to get into the game=good.

1. BULLSHIT. Americans like CARS. They're liberating, you don't have to wait for them.
2. BULLSHIT. Nothing is better than oil. Get over it bed wetters, global warming is bullshit too.
3. We have plenty of tourism.
4. Nothing done by bed wetting leftists can be called wise. Stay the fuck out of our way while we unfuck all the shit you've done for the last 50 years.

If you don't like it, they're hiring rice farmers in North Korea. You'll be able to "retire" much faster there. Or be the first asshole to float south to Cuba, either way you won't be missed.

1. I have traveled in ALL the Lower 48, using Interstate highways, State roads and US highways. I never fly anywhere where I can drive to.

2. Absolutely true. Presently, nothing beats the convenience of tanking up in 10 minutes be on my way.

3. Anyone who drives as much as I do, in as many roads as I do, is a tourist.

4. Nothing more needs to be said.

I am an immigrant from a formerly Communist country, so I knew fully well what you mean.

The moonbat messiah told us the "stimulus" was all about things like "infrastructure" and "shovel ready" jobs.

We've spent that same 850 billion goddammmed dollars now for the last 4 fucking years and he still have bridges falling down?

What the hell is the matter with you bed wetters? When is enough ever enough? Where do you finally draw the line and admit your asshole fuhrer is an inept thug who couldn't manage a whore house?

He's in charge of the biggest one in the world right now for Christ's sake and it'sd a goddammed disaster!!!!!!

It wasn't god damned enough and half of it was god damned tax cuts you imbecile.

Fuhrer? Asshole? Moonbat Messiah?

Mad?

Dick?

I'd ride the rail if I could. Beats going the speed limit by car.
If we had something like the autobahn, then I'd be sticking to the car the whole way. Or motorcycle to really make progress.

I'm astounded.

What is it about the autobahn that you think makes it superior to our interstate system? Is it because it was built by a despotic socialist dictator?

If you could see the look on my face....

The Autobahn in Germany has no speed limit.

A few years ago Montana had no speed limit on I15, I90 and I94. All the times I traveled those roads I never saw anyone driving faster than 95 mph.

Hey douchebag, look at the SPENDING levels of the government since your moonbat messiah got the "stimulus" passed. It was 850 BILLION DOLLARS of ADDED SPENDING in 2009, and we've spent that extra 850 BILLION DOLLARS every year since. It's never enough for you parasites, asshole.

Tax cuts ARE NOT SPENDING, a reduction in revenue maybe, even though they always seem to get more revenue after tax cuts, but they're NOT SPENDING. It's not your moonbat messiah's "stash", it's other people's money you sociopathic assholes steal from us at gun point, and you act like you're entitled to it.

That far left publication Popular Mechanic's had an excellent article on fixing the needed repairs for the US infrastructure. The cost at the time was 1.5 trillion dollars (reported in 2008).
The 1.5 trillion just covers the repairs and doesn't address future needs to keep up with the population growth of new users of the infrastructure.
United States Infrastructure Investigation - Rebuilding America - Minnesota Bridge Collapse - Popular Mechanics

As a side note the US Ranks 24th in world in quality of overall infrastructure. So why doesn't the wealthiest nation in the world rank number 1? No wonder the US is losing out to the worldwide competition! Who would want to invest in a country who's infrastructure is falling apart?

Right, so you want to remove speed limits on our interstates?

Will that make them equal to the autobahn?

Not that I would have a problem with moonbats blazing down the highway at 70MPH in their insipid little Smart cars.

At least our "poor" people can drive escalades to take their fat asses to McDonalds and feed themselves on someone else's dime.

It's not a revenue issue. It's a spending issue.

Not at all! I merely pointed out that no speed limit does NOT make the Autobahn superior to the Interstate Highways and that no normal person would need to travel faster than the speed limit on most Interstates.

and at the same time infrastructure spending has want down 60 billion(320 to 260 billion). WTF?

What sarcasm? You nailed it. Our poor people all drive Escalades to McDonalds on our dime. Welfare created GM's biggest client pool.

No sarcasm.

I am an undergrad Biomedical Sciences student working a full time internship to pay for my life. I was at Wal-Mart earlier buying noodles, bread, an peanut butter for dinner.

I got to watch as the Escalade driving McDonalds eating customer in front of me usedher foodstamps to buy a buggie full of delicious treats that I only wish that I could afford.

I would eat 5 times as well as I do now if I quit school and my job.

America.

A reincarnation of Reagan's welfare queen in her Cadillac.

Why not?
We spend big bucks fixing the infrastructure of other countries.
It is about time we started doing something about our own decaying infrastructure

Yes, we give them roads, bridges, and healthcare[why is it good for them and not for Americans]?

It sure would be pro-American and pro-business to invest monies in the country's infrastructure. It would provide jobs, not only with the infrastructure project, it would also create jobs in the business sector as the business sector becomes more competitive on the world stage.
Didn't Ike build the US interstate system for those very reasons?
