Top 1% to own 66% of the world's wealth.

Donald Trump and the Republican Congress just gave a $1.5 trillion gift to the special interests which will come out of the hides of our descendants.

That's money which our country is at this very moment borrowing from our enemies.

For example, the Mortgage Interest Deduction (MID). The rube herd is programmed to believe the mortgage interest deduction = "I get to keep more of my money!"

But what they do not know is that the MID increases the cost of their house. It also increases our tax rates to offset the lost revenues.

Therefore, in actuality the MID = higher tax rates, higher home costs.

Now ask yourself, who benefits from higher home costs?

Answer: Home builders, commissioned mortgage brokers and real estate dealers, and mortgage lenders.

So the MID boils down to a massive government wealth redistribution scheme, with the rube herd thinking they are coming out ahead.
Can you explain to this rube how the MID increases the cost of my house? I can see it increases other costs not my house cost. I seems to me that our society has decided that home ownership is a good thing (I heartily agree) and the MID is there to encourage it. It has certainly been good to me and anyone who doesn't take advantage of it is missing a path to wealth.

If nothing is done about the unnatural concentration of wealth into a few hands, then sooner or later the people will revolt, and their solution won't be the right one. It will be the populist "tax the rich more" one.

So don't be stupid and pretend there is no problem. You do so at our nation's peril. And those who are abusing our system are counting on you being just that stupid.
True, just ask the Czar.

I always like disparity of income discussions. All the greedy envious little socialists that think life is unfair spout their hate.
Does that mean you love that life is unfair?

I am not greedy so I don't care how much money somebody else makes.

What I do care about are the asshole Left Wingers who use the government to steal my money
It isn't left wingers who are stealing your money.

If a burglary ring was bribing the police to be their lookouts while the robbers burgled your house, would you say, "I don't care how much money those burglars make"?

No?

That is effectively what you are saying about those who are robbing you blind through gifts in the tax code which make your goods more expensive and your tax rate higher.

You are confused Moon Bat.

The filthy ass cost of government is the largest household expense of almost every family in America and it is so large because a lot of that money is going to welfare, subsidies, entitlements and bailouts.

The despicable greedy Left Wing assholes that elect representatives that takes my money by force through oppressive taxation are the biggest thieves in this country. Shitheads that steal my money to get free food, free housing, and free health care are the ones that fuck me on a daily basis because I have to earn the money and give it to them while my family has to do with less.

Don't be naive, it's the Right Wingers too who use the government to steal your money.

How Would Reforming the Mortgage Interest Deduction Affect the Housing Market?

One widely cited 1996 study by Dennis Capozza, Richard Green, and PatricHendershott estimated that eliminating the mortgage interest and property tax deductions would reduce housing prices in the short term by an average of 13 percent nationwide, with regional changes ranging from 8 to 27 percent.

Why Now's the Time to Kill the Mortgage Interest Deduction

Proponents of the deduction argue that it's a key component to keeping home prices up.

Do you hear that? An open admission the deduction drives up the cost of housing!

As much as homebuilders argue that eliminating the deduction would hurt them, economists agree that the biggest impact would be on the highest-priced homes, with more reasonably priced real estate seeing little or no impact from getting rid of the deduction.

Homebuilders whining about losing their government tit.

Of every dollar you pay in tax, how much do you think goes to providing free food, free housing, and free health care to those that have not contributed? How much would be acceptable?

Tax expenditures add up to more than twice all welfare programs combined.

$1.4 trillion EACH YEAR.

And you have probably never heard that before. Unless it was from me.

Because Fox News sure as shit isn't going to tell you.

I can't get to the link but I wonder if it reduces the absolute cost vs the cost to me.

If we eliminated the $1.4 trillion wealth redistribution in our tax code, we could significantly lower everyone's tax rates and pay off the debt.

The MID increases the cost of your home. Which increases the cost of your mortgage. Which reaps huge benefits for homebuilders, realtors, brokers, and lenders.

It is a massive transfer of wealth from your pocket to theirs.

An UNNATURAL concentration of wealth.

The special interests who are reaping from the legislative tilting of the playing field have the rube herd totally focused on the poor as being to blame.

Evil.

Pure evil.

Don't forget, the MID also increases the cost of my home to the people I sell it to. The cost of my mortgage is subsidized by the gov't so I can borrow more money at the same price. Which reaps huge benefits for me when I sell my house.

It is a massive transfer of wealth from society's pocket to mine.

The MID is a subsidy for homeowners by non-homeowners in the form of higher tax rates.

It is theft.

Too simplistic. Non-homeowners have to live somewhere and wherever they do that landlord is benefiting from the tax break. Without the break I might form a company to buy a house and rent it back to myself. I indirectly get the same tax break on the mortgage but as a business expense. With the new tax law this may become common for more expensive homes.

The landlord is benefiting from a tax break subsidized by the renter's higher tax rate.

At the same time, the landlord's property cost more because of the MID, and therefore rent is higher.

Donald Trump and the Republican Congress just gave a $1.5 trillion gift to the special interests

You liberal filth are such liars. No Trump did not give a gift to anyone, let alone special interests you lying hack. I challenge you to make an argument that's isn't a big fat lie, I doubt you can.

The corporate tax rate was as high as it was because of the government gifts in the corporate tax code. I have provided the evidence of this countless times.

The right way to lower the tax rate is to take out the government gifts which drove it so high to begin with.

But Trump and the GOP Congress didn't do that. They left the gifts there, and lowered the tax rate, thus producing a $1.5 trillion deficit which our kids will be saddled with. And it is being paid for by money borrowed, in part, from our enemies.

This is a fact.

Another fact is that Trump has made you into an uber-Keynesian!
