New York City ranks No. 1 among the best cities for new college graduates, according to a list released this week by website Apartment Guide. Washington, D.C, comes in second; Philadelphia placed third. The ranking, done for Apartment Guide by real estate data analysts OnBoard Informatics, takes into account such lifestyle amenities as bars, restaurants, nightlife and entertainment. It shows that NYC, as is well known, is lush with nightlife for the recent graduate. Which it is. Along with the super wealthy, the club goer, the concert goer, the art enthusiast, etc..


it has nothing to do with obtaining work, affordable housing or any other important life criteria.

Oh, I read the article AND saw just what you did! Just another fluff piece having nothing to do with reality. And, even if you DO manage to get a job there, how can you afford to live there?

Other top-10 cities, starting with the fourth most desirable, are: Seattle, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Chicago, Las Vegas and Portland, Ore. Denver came in last.

Seattle? Pot-smoking capitol of the USA. Why didn't Denver come in right behind?
San Francisco? $1.5k per month for a studio apartment!
Las Vegas? If you want low-paying casino jobs here!
Chicago? Wear a flak-vest!
Portland? Greenie heaven.
 
My point is that this isn't about economics. It's about young people who desire a lush night/social life.
