So far, all they have against Snowden is that he violated the terms of his employment contract. The government isn't finished with him yet. They are still rigging up a case.

Edward Snowden was incredibly brave and self sacrificing to come forward to expose the government's criminal activity knowing what it would do to him and his family and everyone he knows. He says he has more. Let's hear it. Or will obama succeed in having a total blackout.

He cut and ran to CHINA, he is now in hiding. The one sure thing we know about Snowden is he is a criminal and needs to be brought to justice.

Which law did he break?

And when was the trial?

His employment contract which has been posted before. CORI (Confidential Record Information) when disclosed is a criminal offense.

Manning wasn't charged with treason. Snowden's motivation is yet to be determined. The question is whether the NSA chief should be charged with treason for unlawful surveillance on innocent Americans.

He broke this law:

18 USC § 798 - Disclosure of classified information | Title 18 - Crimes and Criminal Procedure | U.S. Code | LII / Legal Information Institute

It is also arguable that he did give aid to the enemy by revealing what we were doing to prevent their hideous acts of war.
What he revealed, was a government that doesn't give a shit about the US Constitution.

No. That actually might be a part (albeit a small part) of what he revealed.

But he let the scumbag terrorist fuckers (i.e., the enemy) know what we were up to, and if they have a collective brain in their damned pin heads, they will use that information to adapt accordingly.

He is not a damn hero. He is a fucking criminal and I hope they capture him and bring him back for a trial. Assuming that what he said himself is true about doing it, I would then expect him to get convicted and I hope he gets a lengthy prison sentence.

I am mystified that so many folks are ready to give that bastard a pat on the back. Yeah. He may have revealed some governmental activity which is illegal or being done at least improperly. I'll be sure to send him a thank you note for that part AFTER he is held to account for the crimes he committed.

Well, like Bush reportedly said about the Constitution - "it's just a GD piece of paper"...

"Reportedly." Never confirmed. Much disputed.

Actions speak louder than words.

Your idiot hero, the incumbent, reflects his valuation of the Constitution in his actions.

Assholes like you would never criticize The ONE however. You idiots are still doing the blame Boooooooosh bullshit. Shitting Bull, you have less than no cred at all.

Speaking of breaking the law...

It now appears clear that the director of national intelligence, James Clapper, lied under oath to Congress and the American people.

Members of Congress can't make informed decisions on intelligence issues when head of intel community willfully makes false statements.

Perjury is a serious crime. Mr. Clapper should resign immediately.

If Mr. Clapper was concerned about revealing classified info, appropriate & lawful response is "That's classified" or "I can't answer that."

Interesting that the calls for Snowden's head are much louder than those for Clapper's. Here we have a clear and blatant violation of the law.

Why - is it because he's exposed the US has been doing what the US accuses China of doing?

America has been making unsupported accusations against China for several months but was doing the same thing all along.

You can't be charged for treason when betraying an illegitimate government.

In my opinion, this man has exposed criminals so has done no wrong.
Is there any area in law that says exposing a crime deserves punishment?

The American government has been caught out so is trying to make the guy out as a traitor in an attempt to get off the hook.
Also note. At least one paper is doing a smear job on him.
The propaganda starts.

At the end of the day, regardless of your opinion regarding the whistleblower, members of your government are guilty of a variety of crimes.

That must not be allowed to be lost in the fog of BS they're putting up agaist this man.

That's breach of contract, which is a civil offense not criminal.

No, it's criminal.

18 USC § 798 - Disclosure of classified information | Title 18 - Crimes and Criminal Procedure | U.S. Code | LII / Legal Information Institute
(b) As used in subsection (a) of this section—
The term “classified information” means information which, at the time of a violation of this section, is, for reasons of national security, specifically designated by a United States Government Agency for limited or restricted dissemination or distribution;

Sorry, but you neocons have driven "national security" into the ground every bit as much as the liberoidals have beaten "interstate commerce", "general welfare" and "necessary and proper" to death.

Your legal citation notwithstanding...No sale, comrade.
