Mayors head their police departments in their respective cities. Therefore, if there is systemic racism within those police departments, they should be held accountable and get leadership in their to root it out. If nothing else, they should investigate it to see if it is true, and then make corrections needed to fix it.

True or false, Mayors are free to reform their own policy regarding such things as "choke holds"?

In fact, what in the hell do they do all day?

IF these guys were the head of a company, they would be called before Congress to give an account of systemic racism within their own corporations. Why then are not Mayors held to the same standard and asked to appear before Congress to give an account of systemic racism they all seem to believe exists?

No, it is not a fact that mayors control every aspect of a police force. Some towns have marshals which are controlled by the state.

Ok, so Mayors and marshals are heads of the police.

Why are protestors not camping out on the lawns of these mayors and marshals but instead are shouting racism at anyone who walks passed them, as if they are to blame? Why are they not being called to Congress to testify about their ineptitude?

IF I get fired from a job for racism, do I grab a sign and start screaming out at anyone who passes by about it or do I hire a lawyer and hold those in charge accountable?

Again, what in the hell is wrong with people? This is not rocket science.

Just so all the Lefties know, I have a team of scientist by my side as I type this who are in agreement, so it must be correct.

You hang out with scientist at 4am in the morning?
Stud poker?

Cops are a local issue not a federal issue and Congress has tried to do a shitty job at reform but all they can do is dangle a carrot in front of the cops to ask them to do something to control their own.

The police chief of Minneapolis was appointed by the elected city council.

And you can tell just by looking at him that he is a very intelligent fellow. Absolutely zero genetic or developmental abnormalities are manifest there. That's typical of Dems. They are not strange and weird looking retards at all. They are just normal people.

Well if the current system is not working out, it needs to be fixed.

Problem is, no one wants to fix the problem since racial husseling is nothing but a political tool.

More of a safety director thing than the mayor. Then the prosecuter would have a great deal to do with the behavior of the police also. Lets not forget the union. Ya, not quite as easy to lay blame as one would think, the blame is spread over a larger area amking change complicated. Oh well if it were easy we would have fixed it already.

True.

Marshals are different from city police

mayors are to blame when city police are at fault

and mayors are to blame when the ghetto bursts into flame

Which is where ALL the complaining is taking place.

True or false, to root out bad safety directors or other bad hires in the police force, it is the duty of the Mayor to see to it that any systematic racism is addressed.

And if not done by the mayor, the police or the union, the state legislators need to call them in for a hearing. I do know here in Florida the gov can remove sheriffs, if he needs to, even though they are elected locally.

No, let's just elect Biden and have him pass some token legislation to "fix" everything and wait for the next police murder and subsequent riot and then blame it all on Trump.

Sounds like a winner, winner, chicken dinner!

union agreements, keep the few bad guys from being fired by police chiefs/mayors....

and the way investigations in to the wrong doings are done.... which is basically, the fox guarding the hen house.... these incidences should be investigated and overseen by people outside of their own districts.

the federal legislation, is only regarding the federal funds states can receive from the federal gvt.... if the mayors and police chief's do not institute what congress is requiring, then they will not qualify for the federal tax funds.....

that's the only control, congress has over the situation.

Exactly. That is what has been going on. Just think how much rioting and protests keep people away from returning to work, keeps the economy stymied, etc. all of it is agenda driven. But the left approves...

Why would they be called to Congress?

Do you clowns think we have ONLY one government?

Towns, cities, and counties are STATES issues.

True.

City or County Managers recommend the heads of all departments; HR reaches out to potential employees, sends an application form and reviews it when received by a specific deadline; those who seem likely to be an effective leader are invited to an Oral Interview. From that point on background checks, including medical physicals, and in the case of armed employees most municipalities require psychological evaluations.

Those that pass all the MQ's will then have at least two more oral interviews, with a three interviewer panel; then number one will then be offered a conditional appointment; a permanent job will occur when the City/County Council sanctions the selection.
