One thing we know....if Trump gets into a war his own relatives won't go anywhere around it. He personally received four deferments during Vietnam.......he had a bad heel. My wife's only brother was killed over there in that fiasco.

2S deferments were given out 1 year at a time. And Vietnam wasn't a "fiasco"...we had it won until you shitheads gave up on us.

As for the Viet Cong, they were insurgents in a civil war that we had no business being involved in. All we should have done is seal off the borders of South Viet Nam from outside intervention and let them fight it out.

What's amazing is how we've finally acquired accuracy.....the old Patriot system used to protect Israel from Saddam's SCUDs, exploded in the vicinity of an incoming missile and threw off it's guidance system but didn't destroy it. And these things are flying much faster than a bullet.

It was no different from Guadalcanal. Wouldn't you say, if you could say so about Vietnam, that some island in the middle of nowhere was no threat to national security? Both places were part of an imperial threat to us.
