Trump's former attorney confirms the existence of a recording that has been reported to show Trump lamenting about the security clearance of someone wanting to look at one of the docs he held.

Its not an issue if the docs aren't classified. And if even ONE doc was classified, all of them where.

As you can't have a blanket declassification order AND a classified doc. That shit is mutually exclusive.

And the reported recording by his aid on July of 2021 would demonstrate the doc was classified.

Trump’s legal team is going to have a hell of a time creating a coherent legal theory out of this. The trial is going to be absolutely spectacular.

I hope Trump elects for a speedy trial.

Oh, its obvious. Pence didn't intentionally take the docs, by all accounts. When they were found, his office contacted authorities, with Pence fully cooperating. The docs were returned within days.

No charges for a republican candidate for President.

Trump on the other hand intentionally stole multiple docs and lied about having them. With authorities demanded their return, Trump dicked around for a YEAR AND HALF, obstructed their investigation, compelled his lawyers to lie about the docs in affidavits, and held rehearsals on moving thing immediately before authorities showed up.

And when authorities started asking questions of the staff at Mar-a-lago, there was an unprecedented 'flood' in Trump's IT room that coincidentally destroyed all the recordings in the *exact* time frame in question.

Yeah, he got indicted.

The same PRA of 1978 says in

§2205(g)(1) Upon the conclusion of a President’s term of office, or if a President serves consecutive terms upon the conclusion of the last term, the Archivist of the United States shall assume responsibility for the custody, control, and preservation of, and access to, the Presidential records of that President. The Archivist shall have an affirmative duty to make such records available to the public as rapidly and completely as possible consistent with the provisions of this chapter.

The former President (or his designee) can have access to Presidential Records through the NARA, not that the former President gets to take the records to his country club.
