The Donald may desperately need his own media platform now that he’s been booted off Twitter for inciting a riot on our nations capital, but it’s going to cost him a lot more more $$ than he’s got. Even if he wants to use a partners money, this will be next to impossible now. His relentless attacks on the media for 5 years has left him very few friends in the media world.

This week, the Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal editorial page, a consistent pro-Trump venue, urged Trump to resign the morning after the battle for the Capitol. Fleeing to a host job at Sinclair, again, would make him a slow-moving target of his natural allies at Fox, NewsMax and OAN. Does he really want that? He has too many media enemies right now to manufacture new ones.

To make matters worse for Trump, a multitude of legal and financial chickens will come home to roost once he leaves office.

The Donald's pipe dream of having his own media brand is just that.

Where would Trump get sponsors? Republican sponsors, donors and advertisers want him gone immediately. Storming the Capitol was just too much.

Good article.

Excerpt:

But then as now, the business challenges to launching a TV channel or other high-profile media property seem beyond the talents, resources and patience of Trump and his crew. This isn’t to predict that Trump won’t enter the media business, only to record that if he does, he won’t get very far.

Let’s say he decides to start a cable channel to vie with CNN, MSNBC and especially with Fox News Channel. Assuming that he can raise the hundreds of millions of dollars to stand up a competitive network—Trump has always preferred using other people’s money in his ventures—what sort of luck might he have in getting AT&T, Comcast, Verizon and other major cable companies to carry his new channel?

He has no friends at AT&T, whose merger with Time Warner he fought as president, and which now owns CNN. Comcast doesn’t desire a new entry in the news market to go against its MSNBC property.

As The New York Times noted in 2016, not even Oprah Winfrey, the queen of all media, succeeded in turning her personal franchise into a cable powerhouse. Can Trump do something the far-wealthier and much more appealing Winfrey couldn’t?

80 million REAL people would actually subscribe in a heartbeart.

Sorry CNN only gets it views from graveyard voters inside of airports.

80 million REAL people won't be able to subscribe to a media company - - if it doesn't exist. :bye1:

Trump doesn't have the skill or talent to pull it off. He's always used other people's money for his failed ventures.. Who is going to back him and his idiot sons?

He'd bank millions if he started one...

Fools and their money.

But if you look at the larger model that goes for targeted audiences with a single product....there is a ceiling and it is rather low compared to networks that are not so hamstrung by content.

He's too exposed.. He had a bad reputation for 40 years as a liar, cheat and sloppy businessman.. Now his reputation is world wide.. If he doesn't have his own network, who would carry his show?

Storming the Capitol was just too much.

Even though it was partly Antifa obviously, how can entering the Peoples' House be "too much?" What other places are forbidden to you TDS folks while being silent when Code Pink and other insane groups regularly are openly allowed to invade the Capital Building and scream insane shit? And surada, please, you know nothing about business. What island are you from by the way surada?

He can just do what Big Tech is doing, and get his money from foreign investors, private equity and business investors. Hell the NBA is probably going to be more popular and China than in America soon, they don't care about the concentration camps, so I'm sure Trump can find investors who aren't communists.

You going to try and tell me an Israeli or Japanese company can't advertise or invest in the project? Go ahead and make that argument, and let's see who believes in globalism and who doesn't

For all of Trumps problems, the worst ones are the 30 years of ineptitude that preceded him, but still today, they don't blame their unpopularity on THEIR policies, they blame Trump, all of 5 years in politics.

Who in the hell would vote for such a loud, boisterous businessman/TV host, unless they were REALLY pissed of at the direction of their nation? His fight against China and a southern wall were very popular, as those supposed to defend their interests and sovereignty hated it with a passion. They hate it because they want power for THEM, not, national success.

Some of you don't get it. I doubt even many in the FBI or CIA get it. The spirit of Americans and their agencies that LEAD the world, is gone, and it's gone because of the arrogance and lack of focus by so many. You have far too many followers now and they are drowning out the voice of patriotic, pro-Americans. Chinas world view is winning, which spells disaster for the West.

I've read many books on the FBI and CIA, nothing based on intel beyond 2010, so it's mainly from the operations in the 70s to about then. The loyalty and patriotism they all had dwarfed what you would find today.

Nations now realize the threat Big Tech poses to THEM. They will see them as nothing more than an extension of China, and with it, communist/dictatorship. So, you can expect them to move away from this new, alt-left America. Even as Vogue magazine and others will blow sunshine up their behinds, the rest of the world knows the deal and they are going to reject it.

Those making big money on domestic hardlining won't care, in time, their cowardly donors will though when they realize instead of expanding their reach, they've simply tightened it domestically. There isn't enough money in the world to buy the Communist Party of China, they have what they need. The advantage.

They aren't going to let that slip away. So keep your focus on silencing dissenting voices while China does the real work of global domination...

Trump is banned or restricted across many platforms.

Donald Trump made a fortune marketing the "Trump" brand. I thought capturing the presidency would enrich that brand greatly. Now here we are today and I believe it wasn't only his presidential salary that he gave up as his name has become Mudd to me.

Im saying he would have his own network. He'll have the title of Editor in Chief but someone else will run the day-to-day operations. Mark Burnett would likely be a good candidate to provide filler

Its fairly cheap to start your own network and provide your own content. Look at the Pluto TV platform for example...it has endless sub-channels of streaming content. The show "Unsolved Mysteries" has it's own channel on Pluto.
He's incredibly popular with his deranged base.

In no way would he pay actual field reporters to spend weeks on a story. It would be done on the cheap, no journalistic standards and zero integrity. Much like all of his enterprises.

But he would rake in enormous amounts of cash doing it. In my mind, theres no question about that.

I can't see foreign investors having any confidence in him.. His resorts and golf clubs are losing money all over the world. He's let Trump Tower go to seed since his tax break from the city has or will soon expire. Trump has always been a loser. Even Deutsche Bank is sick of him.

He'd be fine, and he'd continue inciting the sheep and avoiding blame for what they did.

This country is in desperate need of the anti-Trump.

Blame for what he did? In four years in office, blunted by Establishment candidates, 24/7 investigations and flakes like Paul Ryan?

What in the hell do you have to say about the 30 years prior when he WASN'T in office?

Before Trump was in office he was a well known liar and a cheat. He cheated employees, vendors, contractors, banks, investors and wives. He cheated charities for God's sake.

I agree. A giant op-ed show is cheap as shit. And are legions of dipshits that would pay to be lied to.

Trump is gonna make *bank*.
