Trump Pentagon first offered National Guard to Capitol four days before Jan. 6 riots, memo shows

Too bad you stopped reading

Title 10, however, says the president can mobilize the Guard and put it under federal authority.

That was the authority Pence eventually used
hahaha the VP isn't the President....

Geez....just ignore reality

Moreover, the President can't unilaterally send Federal troops into States or DC...not without permission....see the Posse Comitatus Act

Oddly the VP did just that.

But what you're saying is that Trump claiming to have offered up 20,000 NG troops is a lie.

Yup.

No record of that. Chris Miller..his Sec of Defense said Trump made mention of it and it went no further than Miller.
If trump said it....It is a lie.

National Guard has to be called up by the State, or in DC, since DC has home run, by the mayor. The President can't just unilaterally send in the US military into a State or DC sicne it has home rule
Trump is the one who has authority, no one else, unless he delegates the duty to someone else, like his Secretary of Defense. THE President is the commander/or Authority over DC NG. In all other 50 States, the Governor is commander/Authority of State NG.

Likely better ratings...which is telling.

Hard to believe they hadn't met with Patel...in fact, I know they did sometime ago.
You don't think it clashes with the narrative and/or agenda, do you?

You're wrong and I showed you that

title 10 gives the Prez that authority

Also...Pence DID call for the National Guard (THAT may not be legal but people were reacting to Pence as if he was Prez)

You miss this part under Title 10?

d) At any time, an authority designated by the Secretary concerned may order a member of a reserve component under his jurisdiction to active duty, or retain him on active duty, with the consent of that member. However, a member of the Army National Guard of the United States or the Air National Guard of the United States may not be ordered to active duty under this subsection without the consent of the governor or other appropriate authority of the State concerned.

Trump preauthorized up to 20,000 troops on J2nd, with DOD chain of command rules described. Pence was doing what we already authorized.

You have a consistency problem.

First you claim that the President can't call up the Guard and then you say that he did.

You're wrong on both counts

In the 1980s, for instance, several governors who opposed the Reagan Administration's policies in Central America objected to calls for Guard members to go there for training. Minnesota Gov. Rudy Perpich filed suit, and in 1990, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that federal authority prevails when the issue is activation.

As far as Trump calling up the guard...he made one comment to Sec Defense Chris Miller which Miller ignored.

There was never a written or formal authorization by Trump

You just can't help yourself, can you? I said he preauthorized up to 20,000 troops if needed, to DOD to implement them without His having to say so, on J2nd......if DC or Capitol Police asked for them, you know IAW your Title 10. Patel was at the J2nd meeting as well as Miller. If you want to see the documents they submitted at their J6 testimony, call Nancy Pelosi.

From your link:

The enlistees retain their status as
State Guard members unless and until ordered to active federal duty and
revert to state status upon being relieved from federal service.

Article I's plain language, read as a whole, establishes that Con-
gress may authorize members of the National Guard of the United States
to be ordered to active federal duty for purposes of training outside the
United States without either the consent of a State Governor or the dec-
laration of a national emergency.

They are talking about taking NG state troops and using them in federal capacity. They did this in Vietnam and onward..

There was no documentation submitted..as per Chris Miller..Patel's boss

No link?
Patel had to enter the info into the record. Apparently J6 wasn't freely looking for it.
Patel had a podcast on this, as did Miller and Patel on your favorite News channel. If they are lying about their testimony, I'm sure J6 wouldn't let that slide.

You have a consistency problem.
Sometime after Korea, many joined the National Guard as they weren't subject to being called up for regular service....many joined to get out of the draft.

no you don’t show me that. You are totally misunderstanding the law, and i showed you that.

VP is not the president….he can’t order the troops

All he did was call the Sec of Defense, the day of…Trump had already made them available days before and the DC Mayor and the Capitol authority said no

Nothing Trump did enabled the NG troops to be deployed.

Nothing Trump did enabled the NG troops to be deployed.
He authorized them to be available 'if needed'....all you have to do is ask through the properly administrated COC.

“He did not call his secretary of defense on Jan. 6. He did not talk to his Attorney General. He did not talk to the Department of Homeland Security,” Cheney added. “President Trump gave no order to deploy the National Guard that day. And he made no effort to work with the Department of Justice to coordinate and deploy law enforcement assets.”

The statements were backed up with testimony from Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley, who said that Pence told Pentagon leaders to “get the Guard down here, put down this situation.”

Cheney said....LOL

She is right, He did not.....it was all set up in a meeting in the Oval on J2nd. He delegated the COC if the NG was needed......maybe she needs to look into the records of the Oval meeting, like Patel said.

Bullshit,

Trump asked Miller to authorize 20,000 troops to protect "his people".

Miller ignored him because he's crazy.

Nothing was set up.

And we know this because Trump never ONCE on Jan 6 asked where the NG troops were.

PENCE did though

Well, you're wrong on all counts.
Trump did what He was constitutionally required to do on J2nd, by making up to 20,000 troops available, preauthorized, yours for the asking.
Your J6 thing is using selective editing, misrepresentation of the facts, etc.......
Dems and DC mayor Bowser, on J5th, were concerned about the 'optics' of having troops all over the place that day, and refused Sunds request several times. Its all documented here from official USCP repots.
You keep following the bullshit from the hearing. They're doing to rile up their base with hopes of preventing a midterm wipeout. No truth needed, only for people like you to get all riled up and vote Trump out of office...LOL

Tell yourself any bullshit you want but an offhand remark ignored by the Sec Defense not followed up during the actual riot does not exonerate Trump one bit
