If you think there is going to be a rush to evict now, wait until January 1. This is a disaster order that will cost Trump votes.

Which is why Trump is using the power of the federal government to usurp both private property rights and state’s rights to halt evictions until after the election.

Either way, I read the order. It requires deadbeats to sign an affidavit but it doesn't say what you can do if they don't give you one. Even filing the lawsuit could expose you to liability. Whoever came up with this nonsense should be fired.

It’s a rather byzantine application of the CDC’s authority to combat the spread of communicable diseases having nothing to do with a concern for those who can’t pay their rent due to the pandemic.

The hypocrisy is that the administration’s use of such authority is an acknowledgement of the severity of the pandemic when at first Trump sought to downplay its severity.

And it illustrates the hypocrisy of Trump supporters who claimed that government using it’s authority to combat the pandemic in this manner was a ‘violation’ of their civil rights.
