Well, he's made money from threatened bankruptcies. There have been more than one interview/story about how he threatens to put property into bankruptcy unless his creditors write off debt and just take his ownership interest in exchange for keeping his name on the property. The creditors end up with the property and a cut of the action. It's legal and it's shrewd, and it's also the reason he can no longer get loans from legitimate lenders.

They're $120 BILLION in debt in spite of the fact that they spend ZERO on defense. They've know for DECADES that such a hurricane would eventually hit and still FAILED to prepare.

Both Texas and Florida were in much better shape to handle hurricane disasters because they have conservative governors and legislatures.
