Trump to remove protections from media.

Missourian I'm pretty sure that BULLDOG was making fun of trump. my point was that he CAN'T change liable laws. those things are constitutional issues because they involve first amendment concepts.

<aside>Man oh man, do you hate these long quote strings as much as I do?

-----------------

You mean like "free speech zones" and the like? Those kinds of changes?

It seems like the establishment has no problem redefining constitutional issues and First amendment concepts when it benefits them. We need to shed the US/THEM mentality, taking positions based of political opportunism, and answer these questions honestly.

Should the media be allowed to lie and manipulate public opinion?

The answer is obviously no.

You won't see me in the "Rubio is a gay foam club dancer" thread, because it's likely a vicious lie.

Conversely, anyone who is defending Hillary's Top Secret private server is not being honest. There is no excuse for defending what everyone understands was piss poor judgement in an attempt to hide for sunshine laws.

Today, we have the same people who defended Romney's not releasing tax information, demanding that Trump do the same.

Ok, your turn...you give me a Trump position that is totally outrageous, that no one in their right mind could support.
Mexico is not going to pay for a wall. We really can't deport 10 million people, because we'd have to change laws, and the changes would be tied up in courts for years. He's going to open up libel laws .... libel law is actually controlled by Supreme Court precedence.

New York Times Co. v. Sullivan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

the man it total bullshit.

Fantastic. How did that Dred Scott and Plessy vs. Ferguson precedence work out?

No, like New York Times v. Sullivan, and the like – where defamation concerning public figures is entitled to First Amendment protections absent actual malice, rendering Trump's threat of 'lawsuits' ignorant and ridiculous.

You really think it's a good idea to send troops back into the middle east for the 3rd time in 25 years?

I think it's a really good idea to let them think it is a possibility.

A lot of resources that could be spend on offense will be used to defend against a ground attack. That's good for us...which is why we should keep them guessing, instead of doing ridiculously idiotic things like announcing a timetable for withdrawal like the last dumbasses in the oval office did.

Being a trump supporter probably makes you keep them ballet shoes on 24/7 (along with your kneepads).

Yes or no... Because according to Governor Palin, he was going to "Kick Isis Ass". So, yes or no, do you think it is a good idea to send more Americans into the meat grinder knowing that a study cited in 2013 revealed that there were 22 suicides a day among veterans of the first gulf war the GOP cooked up back in the 1990's.
Before you call me a liar here is a link to an article about it:

Did I stutter?

Here it is again, as you seemed to not comprehend it the first time...

Care to address it...or do you have another tangent you'd like to fly off on?

No, you ran like a little bitch.

Do you think it is a good idea...simple question....now get to dancing again Shirley.

Everyone runs like a bitch in your imagination. I said exactly what I meant. Address it or don't, that's up to you. It should be an option...no ifs, ands or buts.

In his Texas rally, Trump just said he was going to open up media to liable laws. When they tell lies they will be able to be sued. Will that put right wing radio out of business? The man is nuts, but I like some of his ideas. What do you think about forcing the media to tell the truth?

How about we start with the politicians and PACs? They make the media, all of it, look like boy scouts.

A agree about the PACs, but that's not what Trump said.

Trump is a child, spoiled by his own success. You can't sue someone just because they don't share your high opinion of yourself, doesn't matter if it's a private citizen or a media opinion show host. BTW, why do you want to give politicians a pass?

I have no desire to give politicians a pass, but the ballot box should be the remedy for their lies. There should be laws to limit PACs

Our political system is rigged to favor the incumbent, how do you think a congress with single digit approval ratings gets 90% of incumbents reelected. I voted for an incumbent for the first time in years in a primary because his only reasonable opponent lied his ass off about the guys record.

I'm all for keeping the media honest but I doubt if it will get anywhere. Doing something about dishonesty would be hitting awfully close to home for the politicians the legislation would have to go through.

Rigged and gerrymandered...on both sides.

An authoritarian figure that announces if elected he will curtail freedom of the press.

And conservatives applaud it.

No shit this is turning into the 1930s very quickly. Remember, no one believe the most educated sophisticated people on Earth could fall for such nonsense, but Germany did.

that isn't what trumpeter is talking about..... what he's talking about is he's a thin-skinned whiner and can't stand the treatment that the media gives to everyone else...and the things he does to others that are far worse.

if he's too thin-skinned for the limelight, he really shouldn't run.

BULLDOG said "Trump just said he was going to open up media to liable laws. When they tell lies they will be able to be sued."

If Bulldog is FOS, call him on it.

I answered the OP.

Your turn jillian, do you have a problem with what the OP claimed was Trumps position?

Missourian I'm pretty sure that BULLDOG was making fun of trump. my point was that he CAN'T change liable laws. those things are constitutional issues because they involve first amendment concepts.
Of course I was making fun of Trump. He can't discard the first amendment just because a newspaper article didn't put him in a good light.

I know. :)

Sadly, his supporters don't

if they had basic comprehension skills they wouldn't be his supporters.

What would the executive branch have to do with that? Trump is retarded.

Will that put right wing radio out of business?

I guess that Trump is loving America and the American people. I hope that he will put out of business the media that is not loyal to the interests of the majority of American people.
Talking heads and media owners with double loyalty and double citizenship may be in danger.

:D

Not surprising. Remember when they cheered the idea of letting someone without insurance die, a few years back? The right wing is disgusting.

Muslim Americans should be allowed to file a class action suit against Trump for that malicious and foul lie he is still telling about witnessing thousands of Muslim Americans celebrating in the street on 9/11. They should be awarded every penny that man has stolen and even the little bit he might have made honestly, if there is any.

Anyone can file suit for any reason. You know this. It will be thrown out of court of course. but they can file.

No, I'm not asking for a critical critique of a nonsensical notion. I'm asking what you think of an idiot who would propose such, and the idiots who support him.

Bullshit, the reason you are a leftist is that you're stupid. Ideas that thoughts are not for you, the hate sites program you with your views.

Now Trump never said he would outlaw or "shut down" the party media. What he said is that he would sue them for slander and libel.

Now look Bullshit, you're dumb as a rock; I don't expect you to grasp how this country works, you are a mindless drone following the filthy democratic - socialist party. We have a first amendment right to say what we like, and that includes the DNC media. HOWEVER, you are still held accountable for your words. Slander and libel are actionable. For too long, the DNC media has been shielded from defamation actions. Let Madcow defend her slander and libel, Let the NY Times face suit for their latest round of lies to promote the party.

This is how a free nation works. And I understand Bullshit, that you don't want a free nation, you want single party rule under an authoritarian and autocratic ruler.

I am not a Trump supporter, but holding the DNC media accountable for the slander and libel that they engage in is perfectly reasonable.

Not surprising. Remember when they cheered the idea of letting someone without insurance die, a few years back? The right wing is disgusting.

You sure lie a lot.

I guess that's why you took the name Bullshit.
But you posting a video in defense of a Trumps lie of Palestinians celebrating in Jerusalem in a discussion about thousands of Americans celebrating in the streets of New Jersey on 9/11 is honest?

Fox News would go out of business if they had to stop telling lies.

If Fox News says there was a "stand down order", then there was a stand down order!

If The Blaze says that Mexican was stuffing an Arizona ballot box, then that Mexican was stuffing an Arizona ballot box.

If a majority of right wingers say Obama is a Muslim, then that PROVES he is a Muslim!

If Breitbart says Chuck Hagel met with Friends of Hamas, then Chuck Hagel met with Friends of Hamas.

If Bill O'Reilly says he was in combat, then he was in combat.

If Fox News says the Marines guarding our embassy in Egypt were denied live ammo, then our Marines were denied live ammo!

If the right wing media hacks say 93 million people will lose their health insurance by the end of 2014, then 93 million people lost their health insurance!

If Laura Ingraham says Obama is going to be impeached within three weeks, then Obama is going to be impeached!

If Fox News says you can print ballots at home in Colorado, then you can print ballots at home in Colorado!
