Trump Wants To Use U.S. Nuclear Submarines To Threaten Russia

Trump acts like nuclear power is just a game.

Just getting back to the previous news flash. Are you genuinely unaware that President Trump hasn't had access to nuclear weapons for two years now?

I don't think they would allow Biden access to them ... they gave him this and told him it was the nuclear weapons control panel ...

The former president recommended sending American nuclear weapons into Russian waters on Monday after recently claiming he wants to avoid a world war.

Former President Donald Trump suggested Monday that the U.S. threaten Russian President Vladimir Putin with American nuclear submarine patrols, which would likely dramatically escalate global tensions amid Russia’s ongoing assault on Ukraine.

“You should say: ‘Look, you mention that word one more time and we’re gonna send [submarines] over and we’ll be coasting back and forth, up and down your coast,’” Trump said in an appearance on Fox Business, continuing a tour of media appearances to downplay his questionable record on Russia and Ukraine.

Earlier in the interview, the former president bizarrely described nuclear weaponry as “the n-word… the nuclear word.”

Trump’s suggestion would be dangerous. If Washington sent nuclear submarines into Russian waters, Putin would likely see that as an intolerable provocation. He would almost certainly react with a greater threat or even an attack on U.S. assets, sparking a domino effect that could lead to war between two of the world’s strongest militaries.

Because of his preference for military showboating and his deep-rooted desire to project strength, Putin is extremely unlikely to see a move like the one Trump suggested as a reason to behave less aggressively.

I'm sure President Biden has plenty of nuclear power on standby. What do you think?

I am SOOOO fn happy Trump has NO access to the nuclear football.

I noticed there was a sharp edit there at the end. Russia has nuclear missiles "off of OUR COAST". Have been there before they were nuclear. We probably have them off their coast as well.

NOWHERE -- in the piece did it say ANYTHING about "being in Russian waters". There's NO NEED TO DO THAT.. So quit pissing your panties and getting punked by stupid journalistic attempts to rile you..

The fact that we're closer to WW3 WITHOUT all this partisan horseshit should be enough to worry about. AND PUSHING BACK on Putin is BETTER than hoping/praying that a miracle happens in Ukraine. He NEEDS some push-back from an ACTUAL leader that will set limits...

From the OP:

When he was president, Trump blocked nearly $400 million in military assistance to Ukraine while he attempted to extract a political favor from Zelenskyy. He also repeatedly criticized Ukraine while justifying Russian attempts to undermine it, including Putin’s takeover of the Crimea peninsula.

The Republican leader is now arguing that if he were still in office, Putin would not have launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. But Trump actually praised Putin’s strategy before the invasion began. Since then, he has offered a mishmash of attacks on Biden’s response to the crisis while claiming that he, too, wants “to end this tragedy without getting Americans snared into a gruesome and very bloody war.”

The idea of publicly threatening Russian sovereignty with American nuclear weapons would likely have the opposite effect.

Putin has threatened AMERICAN souvereignty and our SURVIVAL -- several times this past month. You wanna ignore that like Brandon is doing?

The delay in 2019 followed shipments of Javelins to Ukraine in about 2017. The delay didn9't last long at all.

Now in DECEMBER LAST YEAR, as Putin already had more than 1/2 of INVASION FORCE camping on the Ukraine border, the Brandon himself SAT on the $300Mill appropriation from Congress for URGENT AID. Congress appropriated it MID - NOVEMBER -- the Brandon weenies didn't have the guts to RELEASE it until END of DECEMBER. Delaying the delivery BARELY GOT it there and jeopardized the safety of the shipment, the ability of the Ukrainian army to HIDE and distribute it, ect.

DO YOU CRITICIZE your demented hero for DELAYING URGENT aid to Ukraine as well????

So what?

President Trump has proven to be 100% correct on his policy moves since he declared himself a candidate. Democrats, on the other hand, have lied and covered up the truth at every turn. Why is that?

No he didn't suggest sending them into Russia waters, we don't have to, they launch ICBM"s not pop tarts.

You can run up and down a belligerent coastline without ever leaving international waters.

Not the wisest thing to do in my opinion but he didn't say what you claim.

Absolutely not, he flubbed quit a few including failing to secure our borders before Covid Reached our shores. He never should have given in on that one despite the howls doing so was racist, xenophobic, and harmful.

Throwing dem's a bone on bump stocks was a stupid move.

His willingness to even consider red flag laws that did not allow due process before firearms are taken away was another disaster in the making which thankfully he was talked out of.

His sentencing reforms are dumping thousands of felons back on the street as well and we'll be paying for that in higher crime rates for years, decades, or longer till it's corrected.

Good on balance but far from perfect.

I think lefties are gullible and stupid, that's what I think.

Who cares about Trump? He's not the president. Only lefties care about Trump.

And Mr Trump, only says stuff like this to keep himself in the news. And the lefties fall for it EVERY TIME. We have Trump's name in the headlines just about every single day, thanks to the lefties. They're playing right into his game.

And meanwhile, he feeds his base red meat with stuff like this, so if the left has any thought that they're somehow embarrassing the right by keeping his name in the headlines, they couldn't be more wrong.

Cute try. I'll only reply to one, all of them are not worth my time. They too are false, as you know well!

China slams Trump's coronavirus travel limits: 'Not a gesture of goodwill'
By Joe McDonald, Sam McNeil | Associated Press

On Friday, the United States declared a public health emergency and President Donald Trump and an order barring entry to foreign nationals, other than immediate family of American citizens and permanent residents, who visited China within the last 14 days, which scientists say is the virus’s longest incubation period.

'Unfriendly comments'
China criticized the U.S. controls, which it said contradicted the WHO’s appeal to avoid travel bans, and “unfriendly comments” that Beijing was failing to cooperate.

“Just as the WHO recommended against travel restrictions, the U.S. rushed to go in the opposite way. Certainly not a gesture of goodwill,” said foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying.

WHO Secretary-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in Geneva that despite the emergency declaration, there is “no reason for measures that unnecessarily interfere with international travel and trade.”

JOHN BINDER 11 Mar 2020 2:58

House and Senate Democrats are responding to the coronavirus outbreak in the United States by supporting measures to effectively strip President Trump of his authority to impose travel bans to protect American citizens.

While Trump has implemented travel bans on China and Iran — two of the most coronavirus-affected nations in the world — House Democrats are looking to roll back the president’s authority to enact travel bans from regions of the world.

Nolte: A Mere 8 Days Ago Joe Biden Was Still Attacking Trump’s Travel Bans
JOHN NOLTE 20 Mar 2020

A mere eight days ago, Joe Biden was still vocally opposing President Donald Trump’s travel bans from Europe, and even China, as racist. In other words, if Biden was the president, we can’t begin to imagine how much worse things would look in American today thanks to President Biden’s refusal to keep people out from the very same places where the Chinese coronavirus rages.

You have a problem there, you just showed I was entirely correct.

It was a month too late and not a total ban on international travel.

Disagree all you want, by the time that limited ban went into effect it had already reached our shores.

As soon as we knew there was an epidemic in China we should have cut off all travel from Asia immediately except for returning Americans and Vis Holders who then should have been quarantined before being allowed into the interior.

As soon as it was know to have spread beyond Asia, we should have put in effect a complete international travel ban for all but the same Americans and Visa holders to be quarantined.

It would have been a precedential and historical action but could have saved hundreds of thousands of lives as we ramped up for the inevitable giving us months of lead time to prepare.
