Turn out the Lights on Republicans

IMO the country needs to eliminate political parties altogether.

It could be the R establishment, with help from the lib MSM, DNC, and the 1% will overtly and covertly sabotage a Trump presidential campaign giving us four years of Hillary...which would be a disaster. The silver lining might be the death of the R party.
But how do conservatives win elections if there is only the Democrat party and a wide range of other ideologies with no infrastructure?
.
Again you are mistaken. The R party is not conservative. It is progressive light.
Okay, great: How do REAL conservatives win elections if there is only the Democrat party and a wide range of other ideologies with no infrastructure?
.
Don't you think that should the R party die, another party would rise in its place? Or do you think we would become a one party state (like we are now)?
Well sure, theoretically. I guess my overall question is how large that entity would be. The party is in three pieces right now - the unwanted "RINO" moderates, the Cruz hardcore conservatives, and the Trump, uh, people. What remains to make up the new party? 50%? 70%? Either way, it would be a while before it would be competitive again, no?
.
Anyone's guess what happens...should the R party die.

At any rate, it's dying would be a tremendous blessing for the country. No matter what occurs afterward.

IMO one of the potential consequences of a dead R party, might be the death of the D party.

Turn Out the Lights on Republicans — the Party’s Over (Guest Column)

So, maybe we can characterize Donald as a 'Republican Light?" He has single handedly changed the GOP narrative to.....well. I am not sure what he has changed it to.
Perhaps. But it is actually the democrats who could have used a Donald Trump in their camp to single handedly change the Donkey party narrative and let the chips fall as they may. Because leftist secular "duncity" has single handedly ruined this nation, morally, financially, etc., and put us at great risk of great destruction.

"Single handedly"? So the GOP had nothing to do with the deficit? You want to compare some numbers Chief? Donald will soon be the Face of the GOP. You better get used to "Republican Light."

Don't short change yourself Jim. We all notice you're not sure of a lot of things

The party was over when the republicans but up a magical underwearing freakazoid in 2012 after the disaster with palin

Incoherent babble. Say what you want to say in English.

No, you are right. The Right had a lot to do with the deficit, I stand corrected. But the left had more to do with it, they are the party of entitlements and let all the mexicans and arabs in they can think of and give them every benefit known to mankind.

As far as morals go, your party is the engineer of that travesty. The republicans are just a bunch of wimps who did next to nothing to stand in the way of the left's godless agendas.

LOL Democrats got obliterated in 2010, barely held their own in 2012 with Obama lying his ass off, then got obliterated again in 2014 when Obama's lies became obvious. Voters put an historic bitch slapping on Democrats, they lost over 1,200 seats nationally, the House and the Senate. You have to go all the way back to 1921 to find a spanking that epic.

2016? Well nothing has changed, same Democrats, same policies, they are still shackled to Obamacare, they are still running amok with jobs killing regulations. There's no reason not to expect voters will again put a bitch slap on Democrats.

It turns out that the constituencies that made up the Republican Party secretly hate each other. The D.C. and coastal moderates are tired of being yoked with the religious crowd. The movement conservatives are sick of making common cause with the increasingly on-the-dole working-class right. The small-towners hate the big-timers. The patriots hate the libertarians. About the only things they all agree on are the importance of American-flag lapel pins and the notion that all political consultants should be publicly executed.

:clap2:

Okay, let's try to figure this out. 2010 and 2012 were not national elections. The Dems did lose. 2016 is a national election and the GOP is going to be represented by an Orange Clown. Now, think a lot harder about the expected November results...

It sure will be interesting to see what the party looks like when the dust settles after the convention and the election.

Nothing will be settled, though, because each piece of the party is going to be pointing the finger at the others.

This country needs two strong, cohesive, viable parties. I do hope something of real substance happens soon, but I don't see how.

LMAO no analysis is required. Allow me to remind you of Democrats in congress screaming at Obama to take the blame for Obamacare, then Obama going on national TV and taking the blame for Obamacare. To no avail voters didn't buy it and bitch slapped the hell out of Democrats anyway. This was widely reported and Obama's apology is on video. So again what has changed? Not a damn thing. Obamacare, the gift that keeps on giving

The funny thing is, Obama isn't responsible for ObamaCare. He stayed way in the back while the Democrats in Congress did all the heavy lifting and took all the punches. Then, at the very last minute, Obama climbed down from his ivory tower, galloped in on a white steed, and took all the credit.

I meant to add that it's not unusual for the potus to be sort of frozen out, or largely irrelevant, to the actual passage of major legislation, even though his election created a mandate for the legislation.

The dems didn't have the votes for single payer. They wasted valuable time on trying to get a gop senator or two, and I think Obama was partly to blame for that.

Dem's desperately wanted someone from the GOP to vote for it so they could say it was bi-partisan and they wouldn't get 100% of the blame. One of the few things the GOP did right was making the Dem's own 100% of that turd.
