This doesn't happen in first world countries.

You make your roads out of a material which does not melt because you get temperatures which would make roads/runways melt. This is the first time we have had such hot weather.

I think there is a very good chance that that is correct, though it may make you feel better that the rise in temperature has been gradual since we turned into the 2,000's. The 18th and 19th C's were apparently very cold and then we had ice ages to contend with. One said since records began this afternoon which is what is usually said. If it means a lot to you you are going to have to do some research. It's just after 12pm here and I am in bed enjoying being so warm. I keep thinking the central heating is on and very high!!
