I think its not just smart, but also brave and kind!
At least this way Muscovite parents don't have to keep waiting for a government that does not tell anything to their families. Ukrainians seem to be miles ahead of Muscovites in their sophistication and tactics in defending their country. Muscovy my have the numbers but Ukraine has the quality.

Sounds like a shitty thing to do. Notify them of the death, and tell them pictures are available if they want them. Nobody wants to open the mail to unexpectedly see pictures of a dead loved one.

Screw what russians want and screw anybody who thinks the billions we are spending supporting Ukraine will ever result in them becoming a US ally. Ukraine is Russia Lite under the very best of circumstances.
