Where the wild things are
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met with students at the UN headquarters in Jerusalem on Friday afternoon, and admitted that his organization was biased against Israel.

Responding to a student who said Israelis felt their country was discriminated against in the international organization, Ban confirmed that there was a biased attitude towards the Israeli people and Israeli government, stressing that it was "an unfortunate situation."

Tell us something we don't know:cool:

Israel is a fascist state that regularly attacks it's neighbors and practices apartheid in it's own backyard.

Yet, the jewish citizens can't seem to figure out why the majority of the UN membership nations don't like their country. :cuckoo:

Sweet_Caroline, et al,

Well, I never thought that someone, at the level of the Secretary-General, would make an open observation such as that.

How about the UN reverse this "unfortunate situation."

Everyone knows the UN is biased against Israel, but admitting it is a start. Now they need to right the wrongs.
(COMMENT)

Yes I agree.

What has the UN ever done against Israel?

Another question:

What has the UN ever done to benefit Palestine?

The UN keeps making resolutions against Israel while ignoring every other situation that requires attention (Tibetans, Kurds, etc.) This is because the UN is dominated by Arab, Muslim and Communist countries.

Ban Ki-moon is nothing but a US puppet put in there to compromise the UN Charter and the link you provided, shows just how much bias he has against the Palestinian's.

Addressing the attitude towards Israel, Ban said that the Jewish state was a UN member and should therefore be treated equally like all other 192 member states.
That statement right there, is an inaccurate account of the facts. The elephant in the room, is the fact that when Israel starts acting like a member state, then they will be treated like a member state. As long as Israel continues to violate international laws, there is no reason to treat them equally. In fact, Israel has violated so many laws, is such a pariah to the world community, it's probably best if that country is expelled from the UN.

Israel is responsible for all the negative bias toward that country, due to their inhuman treatment of the Palestinian's. Catch the clue, Israel "earned" that negative bias through its own actions.

It might be best if you do a little homework first, before saying something like that.

Here's a list of all the UNSC resolutions since 2011.

Not a single one of them is on Israel!

Israel has not violated any laws, loinboy. Israel lives in a tough neighborhood and therefore has to fend for itself. The fact is that Israel is negotiating peacefully with the Palestinians as we speak, while Egypt, Syria and Lebanon are all imploding.

The UN has always favored Israel over Palestine.

Israel and Palestine declared independence in 1948.

ARTICLE 1

The state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications: a ) a permanent population; b ) a defined territory; c ) government; and d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states.

The Avalon Project : Convention on Rights and Duties of States (inter-American); December 26, 1933

Israel had no defined territory and its "permanent" population was recent immigrants. Israel still has no defined territory.

Palestine had territory defined by international borders and its permanent population had a long history in Palestine.

Which did the UN favor in violation of international law?

Tinny, Billo, et al - Thanks for showing everyone that blind unreasoning hatred against a nation because its founders were Jews is completely acceptable and 'understandable' to you.
