Unfortunately my friends, gun control is coming.

They still have strict gun controls on who can own a weapon and background checks.

1) No. The only background checks that come into play are when you purchase from a commercial outlet. Anyone can buy from any other individual without any such checks. Generally speaking, pretty much every citizen at least 18 years old is legally allowed to own a weapon. There are some restrictions on purchasing fully automatic weapons. Then again, every man in the country is required to undergo compulsory military training and service starting at 20 years old, where he is issued a fully automatic assault rifle, and is required to keep it himself at his own place of residence. These are not strict laws by any sense. They are simple and basic laws.

2) This is the second time I am having to tell you, DO NOT QUOTE ME IF YOU ARE GOING TO COMPLETELY EVADE WHAT I HAVE SAID. The issue in my post is the fact that widespread proliferation of assault weapons in Switzerland has failed to produce the kind of danger that so many people claim is caused by proliferation of guns.

And the US is a much more violent place. just the way you guys are.

Fuck off douche. You don't know anything about me so who are you to accuse me of being violent? Congratulations for showing that your position isn't based on logic or facts. Instead you're basing your position on stigma, prejudice, and presumption. Like I said earlier, this just one modern day version of the Salem witch trials. What you're doing is no better than when homophobes talk shit about gay people.

I would suspect that the designers did what designers of civilian weapons have always done, take a battle proven rifle platform and made it available to the civilian population.

It's the modular nature of the M16 that initially made the AR15 so popular.

A person could repair it, and tweek it without purchasing expensive gunsmithing tools.

I bought one while I was still in the Army.

The wife is calling me to dinner. BBS.

God, I hope she does not give you a steak knife.

Why?

Do steak knives frighten you now too?

No, you frighten me. I mean, who cooks 'possum on the grill. You got to pan fry that thing.

It's not up to you to decide what someone does or doesn't need. Go mind your own business and worry about yourself.

Actually, it is if your ownership of a thing presents an unreasonable danger to me and mine.

That's why you can't start your own anthrax lab or raise rattlesnakes in your back yard.

There are 300,000,000 legally owned guns in the United States, and I don't know a single soul who has ever been shot.

But I know several that have been hit by drunk drivers.

So, let's ban alcohol...it presents an unreasonable danger to me and mine.

How many people do you know that have used their gun to defend their home when an intruder was in their home?

LGS, why are you thanking him for that post. You think that was funny? I don't think that was funny at all. Nope, not one bit. :cranky: Now my reply, that was funny. :D

So what difference does it make if LGS is black or not? The fact remains.

Because according to you Black people can't be good leaders.

You are a loser and a half if you go flogging that dead horse again.

There is no proof gun laws aren't strict enough. Actually the opposite. The states with teh strictest gun laws also have the highest crime rates.

And the countries with the strictest gun laws have the lowest murder rates. So yeah, gun laws do work. Our gun laws are a joke, no matter which state you want to look at.

And you still don't think black people can be good leaders, why is that?

Most people are middle of the road and don't want a complete gun ban. They just want the type of guns banned and rules put in place when purchasing.

Sounds good to me..

If you're going to completely evade the very essence of my arguments, then please don't bother quoting my comments. Once again, prohibition will do NOTHING to prevent proliferation.

Don't get snitty...

Prohibition might not work in the US, initially. But over time, I'm sure it would. Here in Aussie, after the Port Arthur massacre in 1996 there were strict gun controls put in place and buybacks, and proliferation has more or less been prevented. Very few gun crimes here. To be fair, guns were never as prolific as in the states in the first place..

australia is a very large island with no way of leaving without the government knowing about it, compared to many places you can flee and hide in America. Sure major tyrannical government gun control can work there, but no so much in America.

New Jersey just suffered a mass shooting in a cop shop no less. Some of the strictest gun control laws in the US. The criminal decided he wasn't going to respect the law.. Liberals have NO ARGUMENT and they know it. This is nothing more than an excuse to disarm Americans.. IT WON'T HAPPEN. Whoever made this thread.. you're dead wrong. Liberals don't have the numbers or the power to shred the 2nd Amendment.

All your post shows is that gun laws aren't strict enough and that even people who are armed with guns can't stop an armed gunman. Thanks for proving the point of gun restriction advocates. More guns doesn't solve anything.

^^^ This is the face of FASCISM..It wants your weapons, to tell you what you do and do not need, what to eat, what to drink, report you for saying something negative about this WH.. and the list goes on.. to steal your hard earned money, up to 93% of it and redistribute it..

Listen here fuckface, if you can't debate civilly then piss off.

I didn't say YOU were violent numbnuts, I said you country. Talk about evading what somebody has said. Take your own advice hypocrite.

BTW, if I don't want to answer certain aspects of your post, I won't. Don't tell me what I can and can't do here dipshit...

if more guns were the answer we would already be the safest nation in the world

Then explain Switzerland.

Switzerland has one if the highest gun ownership rates in the world. And by "arms" I am referring to fully automatic assault rifles. Incidentally, Switzerland also has a much lower homicide rate than we do. For every 100,000 people, the Swiss have a 0.7 crime rate. Meanwhile, the US has a 4.2 crime rate; six times as high.

False argument. One must also compare several other Swiss/U.S. statistics before making the crime/gun argument.

Negative. False argument nothing. The claim was being made that proliferation leads to high crime. I've disproven that with a direct example. The result is the fact that we must look to other factors to explain the sources of crime. You cannot sit here and point to all those other factors, but insist that "we're going to also still pin blame on proliferation of guns because we just fucking want to okay?"

BTW, I did answer and evaded nothing. I told you why Switzerland is different from the US. It's cultural. You making Switzerland an example is a strawman argument...What do you do for an encore, compare crime stats of Somalia with Seattle to make a point?

I'll just bet there are lots of things you don't know.

Yeah thats what I said.

Sure sounded like it.. Why did you ask the poster if they're black? What does the poster's color have to do with his FACTUAL comment in regard to black gun crime stats???? Hmmm??? Come on..make up something good!

Because he told me that you were black and shouldn't own a gun. I was defending you.

Someone told you I am black?! Yea right.. everyone here has seen me.. I knew you'd make up some BS to cover up your racist intent.

It's because the female cop had her service revolver taken away from her.

Perhaps that is true. I don't see anything wrong with gun control. You can still have your peashooters, but not full auto assault-type weapons. Oh, and we'll make sure you haven't just left the asylum.

No, that's actually not true. Mexico has very strict gun laws for citizens. So does South Africa. Both places have murder rates higher than ours.
Another loser.

I never wrote that black people cannot be good leaders. You are indeed a loser and a half.

Fascist pig...You hate your own country and that sickens me.

I just hate Circle K.

It is not my fault your not bright enough to get hired at circle k.... Love they way you show your true colors in this thread ....All that racism and fascism and stupidity.......Your are a class all your own. And if your heart was on fire I wouldn't piss down your throat put it out.

You seem nice.

I love that a guy that stocks shelves and wears a name tag 8 hours a day is questioning my intelligence.

Gun advocates are throwing around a lot of rhetoric and data about guns and violence in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook massacre, but the majority of it does not stand up to scrutiny. One major fallacy is that gun laws do not work. Gun advocates are using distorted figures and lies to argue that since our existing gun laws are not working, we should have fewer such laws and more guns on hand.
