Virtually any country can have a few jobs that pay very well. Or have jobs that pay well when you are among the select who are highly educated, trained, and skilled.

The problem is, what about everybody else? The conservative seems to generally be comfortable with the idea that 'everybody else' should just make shit wages and struggle through life, if only as a consequence of his not being one of the select,

the exceptional.

I just don't know why those conservatives think that makes us a better nation.

Yes, it's extremely difficult, especially in today's world, to have good paying jobs in areas that are labor intensive and semi-skilled.

But we should at least not throw in the towel and abandon that ideal.

You do realize that 75% of the people in the US make less than that.

They can do what I did and learn the trade, but I really don't give a damn.

When 50,000 new workers became qualified for the trade and are willing to work for $15 an hour, how will you maintain?

How will I maintain? People want the best they do not want a shade tree plumber. I have seen them come and go. I will maintain because you cannot half ass plumbing

This is one conservative that thinking nothing should be given to anyone. You earn it or you starve. You do your best and if your best isn't good enough you do it again until it is the best.,

Sounds like most union people I know, including myself.

Thats my life story. If my first attempt wasn't the best I will start over and do it untill it's the best.

Even the patient has relapse. It seems the scab is the one who has rendered himself obsolete

Do you even know what a scab is? It doesn't seem you do.
, with millions unemployed, millions living without raises in years living pay check to pay check, many living without any worker benefits, their jobs going overseas, their homes & cars going back to the bank

The greed of the modern unions is a big part of what incentivizes outsourcing.

When someone just as good as you takes the job for $29/hr and you end up starving to death for your stupidity, I will laugh

Really a shame what the working individual with no power has done to himself by listening to the republicans.

Please continue to sell the virtues of unions by referring to the majority who don't work for one by a derogatory description. it really helps your case.

"Hey scab! Come over here and let me tell you how much you suck!"

"Get lost, loser. I'm on my way to work."

The flaw in your argument is that conservatives don't play the class warfare bullshit game. ANYONE is free to work and become highly educated, trained, and skilled.

It's the left that don't want people to better their situations.

People don't make that kind of money at the start they hve to work up to that point. By the time they make it to that point I will be retired. OH and if they are making that much money I doubt they will leave the company they are working for. But if someone comes along and is better than I am more power to they have earned their pay check.

Geeze, talk about being sensitive. What do you think a scab means to you?

I disagree with you. Can you show proof?

It really is a rough life isn't it? You can't defend the individual worker, so chose to attack a term I have used for years to describe the nonunion workers, who by the way, outsmarted themselves right out of jobs. Sorry if that makes you mad.

You call the enemy a terrorist, defend torturing, murdering & raping them. Why do you use that derogatory term? You might spend some time thinking about terms yourself.

I defend the individual worker all the time. I don't defend a hostile entity who acts in his or her own self interest on behalf of a collective. Your lack of understanding about the term you use is just chuckle-worthy irony.

You call the enemy a terrorist, defend torturing, murdering & raping them. Why do you use that derogatory term? You might spend some time thinking about terms yourself.

I call terrorists enemies, not the other way around. I don't defend torture and I never defend murder and rape. You might want to keep this conversation about labor and unions, otherwise your deflection will be full blown and your entire perspective exposed.

So why do you call them the enemy?

Terrorists? Because they are.

Continue the deflection. I'll continue to defend the individual worker. That would be most of the people who are not union, and even some who are but see the problem going on in that corrupt system.

Here's a question, when the UAW stages another strike because there's some problem in the Government Motors operation does that mean the Foxwoods Casino workers have to strike too?
