He killed himself. And it proves the government can’t even be responsible enough to protect one high profile inmate, and we’re supposed to trust them with everyone’s healthcare and everyone’s safety?!

You might be right, but the evidence so far revealed (assuming it’s accurate), would dispute this.

The jail in question has dealt with many high profile prisoners, without incident. One other suicide in 40 years, supposedly. Epstein was very wealthy and people like that tend to think their lawyers can get them off, as they often do. He got off before, so he may have thought he would get off again.

The level of incompetence one is required to believe, if you believe he committed suicide, is hard to accept. They won’t release the autopsy. The warden hasn’t said a word and the MSM has yet to even bother interviewing her or even identifying her.

Add to all this the fact Epstein had damning information on many high profile assholes. We know the assholes are not above committing murder.

What did he hang himself with?
Why was it in his cell?
What did he tie it to?
How do you get the room to tie something to a ceiling low enough to reach, yet high enough to choke yourself with your feet not able to reach the floor?
How do you make a cell to house people with things capable of hanging yourself with and places to connect it to?
This isn't a gallows where you can drop a good distance to develop enough force to snap your neck and kill yourself instantly. At best, you hang inches off the floor slowly and plainly strangulating yourself by the neck as the blood is cut from your brain until you pass out, yet somehow fight the urge to stop doing it to yourself. Try putting your hand in fire and telling yourself you're not going to take it out, or try cutting your arm off at the forearm with a hacksaw and tell yourself you are going to keep sawing until you get through the bone.

So you say he just killed himself?

I say the most unpopular opinion about Epstein is that someone either forced him to do it or did it to him because THEY DIDN'T WANT HIM GOING TO TRIAL WHERE HE COULD NAME NAMES with the proof to back it up. This guy loved life far too much to just "kill himself."

He saved us the cost of a trail and life in prison. I don't mind the government looking the other way on this one.

seems to me that he COULD have strangled himself-----such an event would show up on autopsy-----BE PATIENT

According to the latest reports, he made a noose out of his bedsheet, tied it off to his bed, and then placed the noose around his neck and then got down on his knees and leaned forward, strangling himself.

Pretty difficult to do when your sheets are made of paper.

Not if you tear the sheets lengthwise, wind them into a cord, and then braid that cord with 2 other cords. Simple.

That's a joke right? No one can offer that theory with a straight face and be serious!

Sure, why not, epstein was a well known paper engineer, and origamist:laugh:

Only problem is that even if you spent hours doing that in the dark to somehow meticulously get a tight weave with enough strength, the coefficient of friction would be so great on so rough and lumpy a material that it would never slide closed and tight enough to choke a man to death on the force available you could apply yet still not be so much that it wouldn't just rip the material under the tension of trying to get it to work.

I don’t believe that works. You will pass out and fall over, before you can kill your self.

He killed himself.

That's irrelevant. Whether he killed himself, or someone else did the deed, the result is the same: lots of powerful people can sleep easier.

Whether he killed himself or not, someone let it happen. And, given the importance of the case, it's hard to imagine it was an accident.

Try again. Two weeks after his suicide watch the jail allowed him to be housed alone. In violation of the jail's normal procedure, Epstein was not being checked every 30 minutes on the night he died.

I don’t believe that works. You will pass out and fall over, before you can kill your self.

The autopsy said it was a combination of suffocation and cardiac arrest. You do realize that the veins and arteries that carry blood back and forth from your brain is close to the skin, right? That is why the MMA sleeper hold works, because it limits the blood to your brain. If he had leaned forward and gotten the noose tight enough to choke him, it was certainly tight enough to stop the blood flow to the brain.

https://www.quora.com/Could-a-person-die-from-a-sleeper-choke-hold

The rear naked choke has a very good safety record among martial artists. However, chokes can be lethal. For one, the properly-applied rear naked choke, which is what you’re talking about, uses pressure on the carotid sinus to rapidly cause unconsciousness. The pressure on the carotid sinus sends a signal to the brain that there’s something seriously wrong with the blood pressure of the carotid artery, and it basically turns the lights out as a means of protecting the brain. This in itself is not lethal, but the construction of both carotid arteries decreases the oxygenated blood available to the brain. It’s completely harmless if the choke is released early, but it can kill if the choke is held tight for 30 seconds or more. The most recent report of a death from a rear naked choke described the deceased as beginning to turn blue in the face after about a minute.

Someone like that is not a credible witness. Anything he gave would be highly suspect anyway. Now that he is gone, they will deep dive into his world and find whatever it is that can be found. I suspect mostly nothing. Epstein was a noob who faked it til he made it and liked to rub elbows with famous people as part of the illusion he created about himself. There was press before he died that he wasn't nearly as rich as people thought, and since his death it is appearing like most of his money came from embezzling from Les Wexner/Victoria's Secret.
