US policeman told to 'tone down gayness' wins $19m

Anyone have any evidence that this police officer was less than professional at work?

The homosexual's superiors said he was "too out with his gayness". Personally, I'd say that police officers that sashay down the sidewalk acting gay really aren't that professional. But that's just me.
They actually denied that they said that. He had a great service record.

US policeman told to 'tone down gayness' wins $19m

A gay Missouri police sergeant has won almost $20m in damages, after being told to "tone down the gayness" to get a promotion.

Keith Wildhaber of St Louis county alleges he was passed over for promotion 23 times.

A witness testified that one of Sgt Wildhaber's superiors described him as being "way too out there with his gayness".

Local officials say there will be leadership changes to the police board.

Sgt Wildhaber filed a lawsuit against the police in 2017, after allegedly being passed over for a promotion 23 times despite stellar performance reviews.

Its a lot of money but it should send out a clear message to employers.

I agree with the department here. If a cop is too effeminate, too open with his queerness, this can be a huge problem. Suspects would not want to be frisked by a cop who is getting their rocks off doing it. Even in 2019, a lot of guys are still ready to fight for their manhoods (or is it "menhood"?)

The force had no problems with his work and in fact he had "stellar performance reviews".

This sort of case will do much to ensure fairness in organisations. Discriminating against people because of what they are rather than who they are is un American.

People who do so are anti American values.

No one cars if he is gay. He just needed to act professionally and not be seen as a joke by the public.

Now the city has to give him $19 million, when that money could go towards the police force for extra pay and or equipment, or to help the homeless in the community. Instead it’s all going to one guy whose feelings were hurt.
Maybe the bigots responsible should be sacked ?

Missouri taxpayers have to fork over 19 million because a male Cop sued to wear a dress to work. A sign of the "end times" or just more left wing craziness?

Who was “bigoted”? They let him work there. It doesn’t mean he gets to ignore their professional standards.

Show us where he was less than professional.

Why do you make things up ?
You almost gotta laugh that heterosexual male Police Officers might be fired for refusing to tone down their attraction to females but homosexual Police Officers get awarded 20 million for refusing to tone down their attraction to their male counterparts. What a freaking world.

The guy was told to "tune down the gaiety" , that would tell me that he was acting in a mode that was outrageous and shocking. And that really isn't that "professional" for a police officer here in America.

We expect our police officers to act more like Marion Cobretti in the Cobra film.

If anyone had to ask him to “tone down the gayness”, then it’s pretty obvious he was acting like a flamer.

But they denied making that comment and his conduct has been described as stellar. Give us an example to back up your idiocy.

They call it "gayness" but what does it mean? If a hotshot Cop pats the ass of a female co-worker, he is on the fast train to civilian life. What happens when a homosexual Cop can't control his gayness? He gets 20 million taxpayer dollars? The freaking world is upside down.

And a nice sentence for "Resisting arrest" should fix that little problem.

And how would that "fix" anything? A lot of jurors would see it as self defense, if such charges were made,

But even if the charges would stick, the taxpayers having to provide room and board for the accused for years is no bargain, and the government being forced to pay for Officer Homo's injuries, disability payments and/or funeral isn't helpful to anyone, gay or normative.

Who calls it gayness? The same folks who call it fat-old-white-dudeness?
