It appears this particular military academy is following the playbook of violent criminals and how they segregate once there. Wow...astonishing yes and beyond any sensible outcome for good. What idiots these people must be....okay I feel better qualifying my assessment lol

From the OP's most interesting, yet perplexing story where the congressional rep who displays common sense: "Cotton responded, “The military for decades has been one of the institutions in this society where you are most likely to get ahead based on your own performance, on your own merit, irrespective of the color of your skin or where you came from or who your parents were.” Absolutely accurate from the military families I know.

Military personnel deserve the upmost respect (unless when they give that up committing a crime) and this direction is not forward, not sure if it's even a side move but another example of our country in some strange limbo with these overboard efforts messing with the positive aspects that Cotton laid out.

We need to know the reps on the hill who support these measures, and definitely prior to 2024 mid-terms. Every state representative who backs these measures to wimp out our service men and women to encourage them to walk around worrying about hurting someone's feelings...give it a rest.

Obviously, some people prefer to use rose colored glasses when it comes to what many of our men and women actually go through on duty on a daily basis while abroad. These are the same people who don't like to think about it much, about what it takes to succeed and what that means exactly.

My guess is too many state reps have been watching prison documentaries...current ones, that depict how prisoners segregate themselves according to "tribe". They seem to think it's perfectly normal and expected to segregate within one pod in this way. Strict codes of segregation enforced by the inmates. Seems some think this is the way forward for the military, to note and be fully aware of the "others". Nice...just what we need is a repeat of just the Jim Crow laws.

I used to have the opinion that in order to win an election on the state level that the winner would be sharp, well-read, and have at least a bit of common sense. That's no longer a valid assessment and likely never was for at least 50% of the reps...likely more.

I met Austin once when I was on active duty. Seemed like an asshole to me, but then so did damn near every senior officer I ever met.

The division by race has been entrenched in the military for decades.

When I was stateside in the Army from 1999-2001 I had to attend "Equal Opportunity" classes 1-2 times a month. Classes where we were told that all races are equal but that some races are special - translation: if you're black, you can ignore regulations. If you're any other race, you will be punished for both ignoring regulations and for pointing out how blacks get to ignore regulations.

My parents served in the Air Force during Vietnam and they share similar stories of coddling based upon skin color and the ensuing friction it caused.

It's just now hit overdrive because millions of American's eyes have been opened to the left's use of Marxism in our major institutions. They need to accelerate their plans because there just aren't enough Americans who want their authoritarian control, their abysmal and wholly un-American policies.

The sudden increase in pushing this divisive ideology really seems like an extinction burst. As a bad behavior is replaced with another behavior, it becomes quite a bit worse before being extinguished. Especially in the light of how loudly Americans are rejecting the left.
