Vets to Gop: “You clearly represent the worst of politics of this country,”

What Veteran would talk this way?

Your allegations are ugly and mean-spirited in every sense of the words and are profoundly wrong, both logically and morally. Quite frankly Senator, you should be ashamed,” the Veterans of Foreign Wars statement said, noting that their D.C. staff that Burr had criticized have been deployed to combat a combined 47 times.

good grief, that's liberal whine..lol

I wouldn't believe anything PMSnbc says if it came notarized on their tongues

Paralyzed Veterans of America - Charity Reports - Give.org
Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) does not meet the following*Standard for Charity Accountability.Standard 13: Accuracy of Expenses in Financial Statements - Accurately report the charity's expenses, including any joint cost allocations, in its financial statements. For example, audited or unaudited statements which inaccurately claim zero fund raising expenses or otherwise understate the amount a charity spends on fund raising, and/or overstate the amount it spends on programs will not meet this standard.

AHA! The GOP busted!!!

I keep cracking up when Democrats accuse R's of playing politics. Let's see. The President is Commander in Chief in charge of a government agency that is FUBAR'D headed up by a political appointee.

Of course the issue is going to be freaking political.

Veterans probably want to know why only now, the Republicans give a shit.

No veterans probably want to know why Obama has not done a damn thing about the VA considering the Bush administration flagged the transition team over wait times and other issues that concerned that department. In detail.

The tea baggers in the House have done nothing but cut funding since they took over the house in 2010. Are you telling me they are willing to deal with this issue without demanding we cut social security and medicare and more foodstamps?

You serious ly think funding is the problem? No wonder you vote the way you do.

I wouldn't even know where to begin explaining why I'm right and you are wrong. Just trust me, you are wrong. Unless you are rich. Are you rich? Then you are voting for the wrong party dummy.

ya think we'll see Pmsnbc report on this?

SNIP;

Boehner: I'm 'Shocked' Senate Democrats Blocked A Bill To 'Hold VA Managers Accountable'

Daniel Doherty, Town Hall

On Wednesday, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives easily passed the Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act (H.R. 4031) -- a new bill making its way through the federal legislature that would bring more accountability to the VA. The bill earned strong bipartisan support (390/33) with only Democrats voting against it. However, when Republicans tried to bring it up for a vote on the Senate floor, socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) objected on the grounds that although the bill had many “important provisions,” Senate Democrats needed more time to debate the merits of the legislation. They have therefore scheduled a hearing to discuss the bill sometime in early June.

Apparently cleaning up corruption at the VA can wait.

OP obviously a pre-emption for the VA scandal which the media cannot ignore. They've cut Obam a lot of slack, being black and all, but this is going to blow.

when did the Democrats ever give a shit?.....at election time?.....ever since Vietnam all we see and hear is the stories about Homeless Vets,Vets with physical and mental problems who are not getting help, and it does not matter who is in charge.....every Administration is guilty of treating returning Vets like shit...every one including this one....

When they introduced the Bill for $21 billion in spending, that Mitch McConnell filibustered and all the Republicans voted against.

You may not like his remarks but that doesn't make them wrong to paraphrase a line from a few good men far to many can't handle the truth.

Bushies should keep quiet about that since the Clinton administration flagged the Bush transition team about al Qaeda.

Jus' sayin'

Yes! McConnell killed over $20 billion in funding!

Huh. My local VA just built a beautiful new building, is actively recruiting and joining new members from Bush's two unwanted wars and has an active outreach program for all vets. In Florida.

Hey peter-breath.

I said VFW, NOT the VA.

The VFW is dying. And deservedly so

oh. Sorry. I meant VFW. I've corrected that post. Thanks for pointing out my error.

Once again I'd like to point out that MSNBC merely reported on a story in the WSJ, hardly a left wing rag.

how much would you like to bet the veteran vote goes to the GOP the next two elections?

Not any more baby. Looks like the Vets are but the latest group to be disgusted with the Republicans. Look for the troops to turn on the GOP soon also.

I'd just like these "Vets" tell me how they feel about a commander that says..

If in the course of your military experience you heard a commanding officer state: "our military is air-raiding villages killing civilians."
what would your response be KNOWING that the enemy doesn't care about "context" but the words excoriating military for air raids and killing civilians but will use those words to encourage more military deaths... possibly your own!

These words among others during the Iraq Liberation were found to be emboldening the enemy.

This Harvard study found here asked: THE "EMBOLDENMENT EFFECT"

"Are insurgents in Iraq emboldened by voices in the news media expressing dissent or calling for troop withdrawals from Iraq?

The short answer is YES!!! according to Radha Iyengar, a Robert Wood Johnson Scholar in health policy
research at Harvard and Jonathan Monten of the Belfer Center at the university's Kennedy School of Government.

STUDY ABSTRACT
Are insurgents affected by information on US casualty sensitivity? Using data on attacks and variation in access to international news across Iraqi provinces, we identify an “emboldenment” effect by comparing the rate of insurgent attacks in areas with higher and lower access to information about U.S news after public statements critical of the war. (wouldn't you conclude the next president accusing the US military of methodically and systematically air raiding villages killing civilians.. dissent???) We find in periods after a spike in war-critical statements, insurgent attacks increases by 5-10 percent.

So I repeat.. what would you if you were in the military hear a commanding officer use terms like that without care that the enemy would use it do?
Would you really follow this commanding officer that thinks so little of your life that by according to Harvard study words like that encourage more deaths!
