Voter ID: How about this?

One has to wonder what the true motives for Voter ID are when it does not achieve its stated goals, but succeeds in wasting taxpayer dollars that could have been spent on things which actually do stop voter fraud.

One has to wonder if the real goal of Voter ID, if not to prevent the elderly and low income voters from voting, is to help fraud continue.

Because these are the only two outcomes we see from Voter ID.

the reasons for demanding everyone to have a valid idea a endless and the debate against it just plain stupid.

When the third world countries seem to expect their countrymen and women to get their voting cards, it doesn't seem to be any problem, the display then with honor. Only in America, where Democrats gum up the works by appealing to the minorities or the laziest of the population can the privilege of voting take a back seat to patriotism.

In the third world countries, they are proud to stand up and be counted. In America, the Democrats are excited to take advantage of those too lazy to get an idea so their vote can be given to an illegal or one that is bought and paid for to vote Democratic. Let's tell it as it is.

And the Democrats cry foul when we give every effort for the people who do not have ID's to obtain them. That's not what the Democrats want.
WE ARE NOT A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY THAT REQUIRES A NATIONAL ID CARD....we are the USA, the land of the free, we can travel from State to State, free as a bird....

AS IT SHOULD BE

So what about it, Voter ID people? How about we automatically register people to vote when they sign up for welfare or food stamps?

Having to have a government photo issued ID does not and will NOT STOP any illegal voting, if they got registered by the State, in the FIRST PLACE.
That's a different issue and has no bearing on the discussion at hand.
Requiring an ID at the poll allows the state to verify that the person at the poll is who he claims to be.
So, what argument do you have against the suggestions in the OP?
Why require it, if there is no problem in the first place? Why increase gvt power over us, when it is not necessary? WHY?
Who said it is not necessary?
How does requiring you to show you are who you say your are when you try to vote increase government power over anyone?
i already answered your questions in my post, read it again.
You simply stated that is is not needed. That's not exactly an compelling argument.
You also did not explain how requiring you to show you are who you say your are when you try to vote increase government power over anyone.

There isn't a single case of actual voter fraud which has been caught by Voter ID. The Voter ID proponents have never been able to find one. Ever. And I have been asking for years.

In states the have Voter ID, we still see the same old voter fraud continuing.

QED. Voter ID does not achieve its stated goals. Therefore, it has another purpose. To waste taxpayer dollars that could have been put to use actually stopping fraud, and to put up an obstacle to elderly and low income voters.

You can spend billions of dollars getting the right kind of Voter ID into everyone's hands, and you won't make a scratch in voter fraud.

This is the single fact that Voter ID proponents cannot get through their pointy heads.

So I really don't know how they could possibly consider themselves conservatives when they have such a hard-on for wasting taxpayer dollars on a completely ineffective government program.

ObAMA has announced he wanted to transform America. Well, with his immigration policies coupled with no voter ID is just what he's talking about. Watch that Democratic voter base grow, of course, all new voters will be going to the polls with a paper to match the name with the voter machine's page. The new base of Democratic voter won't be able to speak English.

So what about it, Voter ID people? How about we automatically register people to vote when they sign up for welfare or food stamps?
I'm sorry,,, did you have an meaningful opinion on the options laid out on the OP?

The argument was made that you have to show an ID to get food stamps. So do you support automatically registering people to vote when they sign up for food stamps?

Every one of you that wants a mandatory Gvt issued photo id in order to vote, believe in having a National ID card and would accept this without the blink of an eye....

I AM NOT ONE OF THEM....never have been, never will be.... THAT'S where I stand.

This has nothing to do with the fact that Voter ID does not stop voter fraud. How do you reconcile the fact that Voter ID does not stop fraud with your obsession for spending taxpayer dollars to make sure everyone has national ID papers?

REAL ID Act of 2005

In time, Real IDs could be required to vote, collect a Social Security check, access Medicaid, open a bank account, go to an Orioles game, or buy a gun.

And now a message from the Department of Fatherland Security:

Secure driver's licenses and identification documents are a vital component of a holistic national security strategy. Law enforcement must be able to rely on government-issued identification documents and know that the bearer of such a document is who he or she claims to be.

Papers! Papers, please!

??? Your bully pulpit fell flat. "We are the USA, the land of the free and the home of the brave and who said if we have a voter ID we could not travel from state to state?

We can be free as a bird with a voter ID. o_O

Quit dodging the question. You want to use the "you have to show an ID to get food stamps" argument for Voter ID, then it is completely relevant to the topic to ask if you support automatically registering people to vote when they get food stamps.

Answer the question, coward.

their voter registration card IS THEIR NATIONAL ID CARD in almost all of the thrid world and is REQUIRED, and issued for most of those countries at the age of 16, automatically.

IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? A Mandatory National Id Card like these 3rd world countries that you so admire?

Should it be mandatory for all citizens to vote as well?
