Walker cuts $300 million from university budget then gives $200 million to the NBA

First....make the billionaire owners build their own arena without free stuff from the taxpayers
Second.....tell your failed governor to build stuff that helps the people not the billionaires

Should we spend money on education or to help billionaires make more money?

We know where the dropout governor wants to spend money

Those billionaires can get a dozen other cities to build the arena without putting up any of their own money.

As it is, they are ponying up 400 million if the state ponies up 200.

Given the thousands of jobs that will create, it's a good deal.

As for UW, here you have a system that charges kids $40,000 for a piece of paper and they STILL need a handout from the state? which they will still get, just not as big of one.

Create jobs?

How many jobs are created in the new arena that you didn't have in the old one? Will you have more popcorn vendors in the new arena?

How many jobs are you losing by pulling $300 million from the university system?
What kind of jobs will be lost?

Overpaid professors and TA's who can't speak English? that'd be horrible.

The thing is, the Bradley center, which only seats about 18,000, is an inadequate venue. The NBA has mandated the bucks get a better one by 2017.

the outgoing owner, Senator Herb Kohl (D-WI) is ponying up money for the stadium as are the new owners. but they need the state to do so as well.

The Bucks need a new arena?

Maybe the billionaire owners should build one instead of demanding the state raid their university system to build them one

Worst governor ever

Maybe the university system that eats up 6 billion in resources charging kids $40,000 for a piece of paper can learn to live within their means.

I know you want the 'issue" that is going to stop Walker's momentum, but this isn't it. Any more than overpaid government workers fighting for six-figure pensions the tax payers fund was't it, either.

Billionaire basketball team owners can live within their means without extorting $220 million from the taxpayers

sure they can. They can also move the team to another city that will happily build their stadium, no questions asked.

so they can do that. And take thousands of jobs with them. That would be awesome.

Because if they did, you'd be the first one blaming Walker for that.

Now, I think there ARE things that people should be challenging Walker on. His attitudes towards unions, for instance. His rather crazy views on Abortion and Gay Marriage.

This isn't the issue that beats him, because most people think the universities waste money and most people like their sports teams.

Hence the term extortion

Professional sports are a multi billion dollar industry. They are more than capable of using their massive profits to build their own venues without extorting dollars from taxpayers

If the Bucks leave will jobs be lost? Sure all those part time ticket sellers and vendors will be out of work

But that $220 million could also be used to build roads and bridges, education, scientific research, medical care

Those are the jobs we should be worried about

But the dropout failed Governor of Wisconsin is willing to gut his university just so he can build a playground for billionaire basketball team owners. Shows where education stands with this potential Presidential candidate

Yeah art, sports, entertainment, indoor stadiums, screw all that shit. Who cares if the money is just a loan that will be repaid. We don't need no stinking investments in stadiums! We need investments in more tangible things like raises for already overpaid administrators!

I know

Imagine supporting a university over a professional basketball team

Where are their priorities?

That's right cause we can't support a budget for the university and sports complexes in one state. You either support one or the other... ROFL democrats are so funny when they start talking about math. You actually believe cutting how much you give a university is not supporting that university. ROFL

In the failed Governor of Wisconsins case, he made it clear who he supports

Yeah he supports both. Duh! Were you born this silly, or did it take years of practice & education?

Actually

Unlike the failed Governor of Wisconsin, I have a college degree. I appreciate how important education is as opposed to giving taxpayer funded handouts to billionaires

"No brainer" is perhaps an appropriate choice of words when talking about the intellectual heft of the Nobel committee. They don't really have a stellar track record.

With the exception of Conservatives....the whole world begs to differ

Conservative Sour Grapes make the best Whine

You still have failed to produce one accomplishment Obama did that warranted earning the prize. Getting elected does not cut it.

Why are you bringing Obama into a discussion about scott walker?

Why are you trying so desperately hard to change the subject off of the fact that scott walker cut 300 million from education to give two thirds of it to a rich person who doesn't need any money?

However I would like to point out the following:
Your opinion means nothing. You don't make the decisions on who gets the Nobel Peace Prize.

So your words mean nothing.

What does mean something are the people who do make those decisions. They decided that Obama did deserve that award.

I happen to agree with them.

You don't.

So what?

If you want to debate Obama and the Nobel Peace Prize you're very welcome to do so. Just start a new thread and post to your heart's content.

Stop trying to derail this thread.

Since you obviously didn't follow the thread, Obama entered the picture when the insane claim was put forth that Walker had not accomplished anything, as if that, even if true, were some kind of disqualification. Obama proves that to be false.
Walker has not accomplished anything in life or as Governor

Worst Governor ever

Has the second page STILL not come through? When you're in a hole, the best thing you can do is stop digging.
