"Great Vacations" are not a guarantee in life. They have to be saved for. If "every modern country" is giving them away, I will guarantee you those countries will not be modern for long.

A "living wage" is not even a guarantee in life. They should only go to people willing to put in the hard work required to earn one.

And as far as your signature verbiage, you missed the fact that for the past 40 or 50 years we have been increasing Socialist policies. In all of history, socialism always resulted in a massively corrupt government and a tendency towards slavery. The Deep South slave culture was a prime example of true socialism: you had a servant/working class (slaves) and a ruler/elite class (plantation owner/supplier). Marx got his inspiration from it.

There are several reasons for the demonstrated failures of the socialist utopia you dream of. I wish I had time to get into them. Instead, I will simply say that the original American plan that our founding fathers came up with included balance. Most have heard about the balance between the 3 branches of federal government. One of the balancing factors has been erased from our history and memories by those slavers who wish to undo us: A properly functioning government (of the people, by the people, and for the people) is the balancing force against unchecked capitalism.

Today, since this has been forgotten or deliberately erased, the government is taking over and controlling our businesses. When businesses are owned and controlled by the government, with all the greed and corruption that is inherent in the business world, what tool does the people have against businesses? None.

We will see a continued decline in production, a continued decline in living standards, and a continued decline in freedoms until we separate government from business again.

And by the way, the nearly 50% tax rate we are seeing is a perfect example of government in business, making the rules, and enslaving its people.
