Fact was, there was a crashed helicopter outside of Bin Laden's house. The one that was right down the street from the Pakistani Military Academy. Al Qaeda would have been able to put two and two together pretty quickly.

What intelligence didn't we get? We killed bin Laden and we got his computers. and files. And his porn stash.

At that point, Bin Laden had very little to do with the day to day running of Al Qaeda, as it had broken up into independent cells. But letting the world know we killed that bastard was a major victory.

That senerio fits more then what Obama put out. Consider that SEAL team did kill a man whom they did not recognize and had to ask his wife who he was. Then there is the quickness of his burial, at sea. Then there were the pictures to be released and never were.
