We will never convince the deniers. Giant world wide conspiracy theories are fun and exciting to think about. Slowly changing climates, where the action happens over years or even decades, just can't compete with that for entertainment value.
Then there is the feeling of belonging these socially handicapped tRumpkins get from high-fiving each other every time they think they've scored some sort of point. For instance the 2 dozen or so threads that were started about the polar vortex disruptions last week.

And finally there's the way these things are presented to them, as if they are some kinda privileged information that only a chosen few get to know. What one discovery could disprove climate change today?

No discovery would disprove climate change...there is no discovery that could...climate changes..it always changes...on any given day, there is about 200 degrees between the maximum temperature and the minimum temperature..with such a wide range on any given day, how could anyone deny that the climate here on earth is always changing.

Now if you are asking what might end the skepticism of the claims that human activities are responsible for the climate change.....well, there are a few things that might help. For instance...you might provide a single piece of observed, measured evidence that supports the man made climate change hypothesis over natural variability......or you might provide a single piece of observed, measured evidence which establishes a coherent link between the absorption of infrared radiation by a gas, and warming in the atmosphere....or you might ask climate science to publish at least one single paper in which the hypothetical warming caused by our activities is empirically measured, quantified, and ascribed to so called greenhouse gasses.

Any of those three things might at least provide some real evidence that mankind is altering the global climate....but to date, there is none...and the fact that no paper has ever been published in which our supposed warming has been empirically measured, quantified and blamed on so called greenhouse gasses is most certainly a cause for skepticism. Why would a person not be skeptical of claims of impending catastrophe when there is no observed measured evidence to support the hypothesis?

To qualify as science, an idea must be testable, and if an idea is testable, it can be falsified. What is climate change's falsification criteria?

• Droughts, floods.
• Heat waves, cold fronts.
• More natural disasters, less natural disasters.

These have all been used as evidence for climate change.

When a hypothesis can embrace any and all possible outcomes, it ceases being falsifiable, which means it's not a science, but an ideology.

If you want to say your ideology believes that the climate is changing, and mankind plays a role in it, then fine. However, once you insist that this position is scientific, and demand the enactment of economically-draining policies, you've crossed the line into being dangerous. This is where we're at with climate change crazies.

I am calling "bullshit". This Climate Change/ Global Warming plan to implement a global takeover was planned 60 years ago. Read quotes from the Iron Mountain Report, look up quotes from the Club of Rome and those like Maurice Strong.

Once again: .this is not a global warming thread. This a thread about people who deny it. As far as I'm concerned global warming is not an open discussion, it is a settled fact. If you want to deny it, there are currently a dozen or so threads started by your ilk for just that purpose. The topic here is you.

Ah, so you can respond on topic, and you obviously fancy yourself a bit as well. Just what "critical thinking skills" did you utilize to deny all the science, scientists, and easily seen evidence that global warming is real and dangerous?

Maybe because they alter the global record each time it proves them wrong.. Or maybe its the fact you use modeling that IS NOT EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE OF ANY KIND, and then you tout it as if it is...
