No it didn't. Venezuela staked its entire future on oil being super expensive forever. They gambled wrong.

They actually used that excuse as the reason they needed to take over the oil industry. they still have the oil, and now they get the poverty of letting the government run it. Only the government and socialists could possibly fuck up one of the worlds largest oil reserves.

Only socialism can reduce oil income from families living well with good paying jobs to the same oil reserves and the same people starving to death. Somewhere in that disaster "fair" must have been met. I don't see all of the venezeulan's living it up because of socialism. Do you?
